Wedding Review
I have been meaning to post this all week but haven't had time. My brother got married this past Saturday..It was a wonderful day! I am such a happy and proud big sis. Everything was so nice and everyone has been talking all week how nice it was and about how much fun they had. There was not much at all I would have changed. Here is my review:
The church was St. Thomas in Queens. Nice ceremony and the ring bearers both walked down the aisle (we weren't sure if they would).
Royalty Limo - Our driver was very nice and accomodating. They showed up on time. My mom said one of the cars had a big scratch along the side but I didn't notice it.
Fine Art - Can't say much yet b/c we didn't see the pictures. The people they sent were nice. They were on time and were snapping away all night. They did switch videographers between the ceremony and the reception...not sure why.
Band - I can't remember the name but I think they were Creations. They were great. The dance floor was moving all night long. They totally played stuff that my brother liked...not just normal band stuff (I usually like DJ's and I liked the band a lot). Instead of sappy love songs during dinner, they had a singer that sang slow stuff by Pearl Jam, Creed and even older rock bands. The night got pretty crazy..my brother and his wife even got on stage and sang with the band during the last song. Even though the band was great, I must tell you the band was not the band my brother booked. A whole new band showed up. His contract even said the that the people he met and saw at the showcase would be the ones who came to his wedding and they were not. All of the singers were different. My brother and his wife felt the ones they booked were better. He was so angry when he found out...thank goodness the band did a good job.
Flowers by Brian was the florist. All the flowers were beautiful.
The reception was at Crest Hollow CC. The grounds are gorgeous and we had fun taking pictures and riding in the golf carts. Everyone said the food was great. They said the cocktail hour had a wide variety. Everything I ate was good. No problems with service. Our bridal attendant was sweet and attentive. They had a vienesse hour and it was yummy. Two complaints - they said they give you top shelf alcohol and there wasn't That was a big thing with us. They gave you cheap rum (not even Bacardi), fake Baileys, etc. even if you asked for the good stuff. The contract said they would have top shelf. Also, the rolling bar did not roll. My mom said it came to her table (on the other side of the room) once and it was after she tipped the guy $20.
The bride and groom looked gorgeous. We (bride and BM) got our dresses from Flowerama in Glendale. Few minor problems but nothing too bad. Can't remember where the boys got their tuxs.
Guess that's it. All and all it was a wonderful day.
Now on to planning my own!
