Wedding review Harrison House
We missed the entrance because is was so dark and pushed so far back on the property but the entrance driving up was sooo pretty a long driveway with christmas lit trees along the way! The house was magnicficent from the outside, very impressive... a Mansion! They had the wreath up and as you walked in a gorgeous christmas tree in the foyer.
It really was like being in someones house though, the room are all maze like and there was noone to direct us, I had no clue where I was supposed to go, everyone was confused. Then we had cocktail hour which was the same, many rooms all spread out and there werent enough chairs and tables for all the guests. The food was ok, nothing spectacular but there definetly wasnt enough of it.
Then we go into the reception area and I dont know if they normally dont number the tables but we played musical tables with these other people 3 times, it got annoying! we couldnt find anyone to help us really, I was just still very confused at this point.
The room set up was beautiful with the wreaths along each window and the ambiance was very sophisticated but the three tables that were set up in a seperate room that only opened to the the dancefloor was where we were sat, we felt like we werent really part of the wedding the whole night, we couldnt see anything! From what the videographer told me they usually put the band in there, well that would have made sense!! i dont know if there are other rooms used for weddings but this one was not practical at all, I never saw them come in or any of the other guests. Again the food was ok, not great.
Service was ok, a woman spilled a drink on me and i told her not to worry just to get me another drink but she never did so i asked her about 20 min later and she fought with me saying she did bring it!! Like who cares if you did or not bring me another hahaha
Then there was a viennese which was ok, not the usual vienese I am used to seeing, not over the top at all, if you are gonna do it, just do it! But this place was more reserved so they had the basics but the desserts were good.
Overall I think the place is very nice, much nicer for a small intimate affair, it was different and homey but not practical and frustrating.
Those of you getting married there please dont take what I say to heart, you will never please everyone I know this as does every bride.
Those of you who arent, better off to save your money, i hear this place is very pricey and to me and the people I sat with, totally not worth it
