wedding / RH scheduling... WWYD?

FH and I don't have our hearts set on any particular date. We do want a Sat night wedding, though, in either July or August.

We are finally meeting with the deacon at the church this Wednesday, where we will pick our date.

We're excited, but here is our dilemma... We have narrowed down our RH choice to two places. One has more availability than the other. One has dates in July and August, while the other just has dates available in August.

Given that we're sort of planning on short notice and we had enough trouble getting in touch with the church the first time around, we'd prefer not to set a date and then try to change it based on RH availability - though I know that sometimes happens.

We really are torn on the hall, too... The one we really like the most is more expensive, so we'd need them to come down in price to book. The other one is a good price, has fewer dates available, get a lot more for your money...

Should we attempt pick a date at the church when both halls are available? It'll be based on availability at the church.

If so, should we call the RH's ahead of time to ask them to hold a date for us for a couple of days until we know for sure we have the church?? Or should we only do that if we can narrow it down to one RH?

I had a date on hold at our hall when I went to the church but, I asked them of other available dates around the one we wanted just in case there was a church conflict.

I called the hall to do this the day we met with the church.

When I was going through this, I went to the hall and they told me a date that was available for when I was interested. My hall had only 2 dates available and one of the rooms was too large.

The next day, I called my church to see if the date was open and it was. I think you can always change the date with the hall if it does not work for your church.

Our church can get booked, too, so I'm a bit worried. Guess I won't know more until I go on Wed! I think we'll try to book a date that both halls have available and go from there... or try to decide which hall between now and then!

The church might help you make your decision based on availabilty!

Just start with the date they both have available and work your way from there (if it's not available).
