wedding ring bands

I was the 07 bride who got my wedding bands already... Usually u get ur bands a little bit b4 ur wedding...there is no need to get them early however, us Greeks do things alittle differntly. We are not Ofically engaged until we havea religious ceremony. Our wedding bands get blessed the day we 'oficially' get engaged. After that we wear them as a symbol of engament and then on our wedding day they get blessed again and they become our wedding bands.... Thats why we have them so early....we need then for our E-party in June.

Hence the reason we get them so early.. HTH

It is great to keep in tradition with your particular customs....these days there a lot of people that don't.....great to hear it still happens......

In Greece no.. I mean the last few years it has been becoming the 'thing' but originally no.. Here in the US.. us Greek Americans get the best of both worlds

also it used to be that we wore the rings in our left side when engaged and switching them to the right for the wedding ( they wear their rings on the right). Some Greek Americans then took the tradition and swapped it making it wearing the rings on the right and then switching them to the left come marriage......

I however, bought our wedding bands just because the price of mine kept going up so we just decided to go purchase them from now.......

Im keeping the trditions going.. im going to wear my ring on the right hand hen we get married. All Orthodox religions do it this way.

My fiance bought my wedding band at the same time he bought my engagement ring cause we had picked it out together so I'm all set but we've been looking ever since we got engaged back in Decemeber for his. He's ridiculously picky though and can't seem to find anything so I'm glad we've already started looking. However, my sister got gorgeous bands a few weeks before her wedding at a great price. Keep in mind the price of gold and platinum just went up a lot so it might be better to buy now anyway.

I was just going to mention the same thing........the price of gold and platinum has just gone up. We will actually be buying ours now for that reason alone.
