If I have an engagement ring where the pave diamonds don't go around the whole band... should the wedding band match with the pave diamonds not going around the whole band or would it look weird if they go around the whole band while the E-ring's dont.
Part of me thinks they should match and the other thinks that if I ever wear the wedding ring alone, it would be nice to have the diamonds all the way around.
Opinions about this?

I have a 3-stone ring and don't have diamonds around the band... i tried on a few rings that had diamonds the whole way around and wasn't crazy about it-- but i also didn't see a point to paying for extra diamonds that no one would see :)
i have seen some nice combos with a full wedding band and just a partial ering, and it looks nice!! the only way i found what i liked was by trying different combos... you may find something you never thought of!!

I say go for the eternity band (diamonds all around). My Ering has diamonds that go halfway down the band and my wedding band is eternity. I just put pics in my album if you want to see for reference.
If u want the eternity band then get it. The diamonds on my wedding band go halfway around and it matches my e-ring...

another unrelated question... but is there a notable difference if you have a platinum engagement ring and white gold wedding band.
I have a platinum e-ring but the wedding rings are so much cheaper if you get it in white gold... any advice? I know platinum lasts longer but I am temted to just save $$ and go for same ring but in white gold?

My jeweler said you should have the same metal on both the E-ring and W-ring. I think they do look a little different-BUT if you did the diamond eternity band it probably wouldn't be so noticeable.
For your FH, he would do white gold though.

I think either all around or halfway around would both look fine with your engagement ring. Most people I know with an eternity ring complain about it, that it 'pinches' and gets really uncomfortable. Plus, you risk losing stones as your palm tends to hit hard surfaces more frequently than the top of your ring would.
My friend has a platinum engagement ring with a white gold wedding ring. If you look, you can tell the difference, but if you're not really looking for it, you can't tell, especially if there's not a lot of metal on your ring to begin with (something like a channel setting may be more noticable b/c there's more metal).
