Tonight, my fiance and I came home with our wedding bands and showed them to my mother. When she saw them she told us that the womans band is supposed to be wider then the mans band and that we did it wrong. His band is wider then mine becuase he has really long fingers and mine are short so my band is thinner. Does anyone know if she is right??? Does it really matter??

Re: Wedding Rings
I've never ever heard of that.
Most men's rings are wider than women's bands. Look at any jewelry store's selection.
Yes, it does have to do with the fact that women's fingers are smaller and men's are more suited to a wider band. Probably also because when worn with the engagement ring on the same finger it can get pretty wide.

I agree. I have NEVER seen a mans band be thinner then the womans

I think I know what your mom is talking about. Its really, really old fashioned though. My mom's band is wider than my dad's. But my parents are stuck in the 50's. All modern bands are made the complete opposite, with the woman's band being more dainty and the man's band wider.
