Does anyone have advice on a style of wedding shoe? I've heard that strappy shoes are totally uncomfortable. What is the best style to get for comfort? Does anyone knw where to get great shoes? Thanks so much!!!

Re: wedding shoes
DSW warehouse, and other places like that have huge selections....
everyone's feet are different. I'm sure you know what shoes you could dance in all night, and which ones would be torturous....
that said, personally I hate high heels (the pressure on the front of my feet kills me in no time)...... Strappy low heels are usually ok, especially if it doesn't have the heel strap.
I love kitten heeled mules... low heel, still sexy, and no back strap... so that's what I bought.... (pic in album)

These shoes were made especially for comfort for brides, I bought them at The Shoe Boutique in Babylon Village
I would suggest wearing a similar style to what you usually wear. I typically wear flats so for the ceremony I wore a low strappy sandal, which wasn't too bad but after awhile my feet did start to hurt. So I went to what I'm used to - flip flops!

Re: wedding shoes
I bought my wedding shoes at Worldtone in Chelsea. They are a dance shoe store so their shoes are for professional dancers. They are supposed to be ultra comfortable.
They aren't the prettiest shoe out there but pretty enough for the comfort. I didn't want to be limping or barefoot by the end of wedding night.

Re: wedding shoes
I bought mine at Hazel's in Bayside Queens. They have a huge selection.
I think this is pretty subjective, but I had my shoes on from 1pm - 1:30am. And had no problems. But I am use to wearing high heels as DH is 6'8' and I am only 5'4'!!
One suggestion though.... get your shoes a little big. You can put those 'petals' in them early in the day and take them out later when your feet swell.

Re: wedding shoes
It depends on what you are normally comfortable in. Your wedding day is NOT the time to go from flats to 5 inch stilletos lol. Unfortunately my best friend disagrees (she is 4'10 and for her wedding his August she plans to wear 5 inch heels. I predict I will have to fish them out from beneath the table at some point.) but I would say comofrt is key unless you plan to wear fabulous but cheap shoes that you wont mind taking fof halfway through if they kill you. Mine were 20 bucks! -grins- So if they die or kill me, i will just whip em off and shed no tears. I can't dance in heels anyway.
I usually buy NATURALIZER brand shoes. Or Aresoles. Naturalizer is sooo comfortable-they are actually a comfort shoe line. I bought really cute gold slingbacks 2 years ago for a wedding i went to and they are the only shoes I have never removed at an event. Short heel-2 3/4 inches. I have worn them since then.
This is them-but in pearl instead of gold. They are one of their colelction's staples.

Re: wedding shoes
Im actually wearing to pairs of shoes. the top one is the main pair, then if my feet get tired I can switch to the bottom.
i agree with what a lot of the other girls said - i think it depends what you're normally comfortable with. i love strappy sandals and my feet have grown accustomed to wearing them (one good thing about living in the southwest!!), so my plan is to wear a hot, strappy number, with a heel not higher than 2.5-3 inches. good luck!!

Re: wedding shoes
I haven't started looking yet, but when I do, I am looking for a low heel, because that is what I normally wear and I know I can be comfortable in a lower heel.

Re: wedding shoes
I bought a few pairs of shoes before deciding on which one would be the most comfortable. Try checking out DSW and zappos.com - they both have great selection and you can return easily.

Re: wedding shoes
I wore these all day/night and didn't realize they were on my feet all night until it was 2:30am and time to take them off to go to sleep.

I second this shoe for comfort.......it comes in different widths and heights also
