Wedding Show.....

Wedding Show.....

I have a similar situation to LoveyDovey.

I was selected for a show on E Entertainment. I have to go into the city tomorrow for the last audition to see if I make it to LA for the show. It's a reality show and they pick 10 girls to go live in a house and compete for their dream wedding. The audition tomorrow is the final 25 girls.

I don't know what I want to do. Bascially they will pay for my whole wedding....my limit is $500,000!!!! So I can literally have the wedding of my dreams. It would be totally insane. I would have hollywood designers and coordinators help me plan the wedding and do everything. I could also get cosmetic surgery if I want it.

The one big catch is I have to get married in February 2011. I'm not really into a February wedding. I really want to get married in August. So that's a big switch for me. I already have my RH book with $6000 down on it. I booked my DJ and photographer....but I'm sure I could try to switch the date with them. I still really love my hall....but with $500,000 would I go to a different place? It puts everything up in the air.

The other catch is my wedding would be on E TV. I don't know if I want camera crews at my wedding taping it and i'm not sure I want my wedding broadcasted on national television. So I don't know what to do! I suppose I'll go to the audition tomorrow and see if I get picked...

What would you do?

Re: Wedding Show.....

My first impulse was 'DO IT!!!' but then I really thought about it and I wouldn't do it because:

Those reality shows where you live in a house to compete for something ALWAYS has a 'villian' and always has drama. They are fun to watch but you are leaving yourself vulnerable to criticism and attacks for any given thing they air. You may not think it will but some reality shows completely blow up and reality stars are in the limelight whether they want it or not.

LIke digging in your past etc.

I wouldn't do it for that reason.

eta: make sure your FH is completely on board as well if you do decide!

ITA. my gut reaction was also to go for it.. but living in a house and competing for a prize that you aren't guaranteed, just isn't worth the headache....

But if I do go I have nothing to lose really. Cause it's this August. So I wouldn't have to change any of my plans until I possible win. If I don't win then I could go along with my wedding just as it was. And I'm a teacher, so it's not like I would have to take off work or anything for the show.

If you are a teacher, be especially careful how you come across on t.v! No irresponsible drinking or trash talking missy!

500,000 is a hell of alot of money , I can see why you're so torn. Since you seem very interested, go to the audition tommorow like you said and see if you make the final cut.

Re: Wedding Show.....

if my show was giving me 500,000 I'd be INNNNNNN!!!!!

there would NOOOOOOOOOOOOO questions for me!

yes the cameras and being on TV makes it a little less intimate...but I think for that amount of money and cosmetic surgery.... it's worth it!

I understand how you feel about the issue with being on TV and having a crew at your wedding...trust me...it presses on me everydayyyyyy!!

FM if you want to chat!!!!

p.s.i saw that show and thought about applying!

BUT DEF go on to the next audition...it cant hurt...if you dont make it then hey it makes your decision easier

and if you make it...it doesnt mean you cant back out

and losing 6k wouldnt bother me if i was gaining 500K for the wedding.

I don't know; on one side i'm like DO IT; but then i'm thinking like the other girls that living in that house w/a bunch of women who are ALL potential Bridezilla's is a recipe for drama. I can just see the arguing and b i t c h fighting cause so many of them are going to be cut throught to get the wedding they want too.

BUT you know what; i say at least continue w/the process and see if you even get selected. It doesn't hurt to continue; cross that bridge when you get to it if you decide to live in the house

DUUUUUUUDEEEE, this is a much easier decision for me than LoveyDovey's sitch... I'd be more concerned about the living int he house with 10 other btches than with having to change my wedding all around. Shhyyyyyt, if I was ok with that part, the rest wouldn't be a question for me, I'd do it.

And I'd be having it at the Hempstead House, biatch! Damn straight! Eff Oheka!

i think it would be a huge headache to go for the show.
how long would you have to be on the show while they filmed?
if i won - i think i would totally do it!

hellll no! once something is on film..it's there forever.

I'd think of your job, your family and your FH. no no no!

Re: Wedding Show.....

I wouldn't do it.

1- too much drama

2- can get overexposed (10 years from now, people may pass judgment on what you did/said on the show)

3- Feb 2011? so that a major snowstorm can cause total havoc?

3-why be a guinea pig for a network who is looking to take advantage of you and your reputation to gain ratings?
Naaaahh......

Re: Wedding Show.....

My advice would be to Definitely find out what 'style' the show will be , for the sake of your career make sure its not something trashy that you will forevever be associated with. Good luck! Let us know how it goeS!!
