Wedding Song

Hi, everyone. I am having trouble deciding on a song to dance with my FH to. Unfortunately, he's not much help in this department. I was thinking of 'Beautiful in My Eyes' by Josh Kadison. What is everyone else dancing to? Any ideas?

Re: Wedding Song

You can check with your DJ, they usually have a pre-printed list of popular wedding / first dance songs, I don't have my list here at work, but I will copy some of the songs later this evening onto the site. Good Luck!

Re: Wedding Song

We were originally going with By Your Side by Sade -- then we switched to -- 'Ooh I Love You' by the Climax Blues Band.

The lyrics are awesome -- the first time i heard it, I started crying -- it reminds me of the relationship between me & my FI...

Re: Wedding Song

My FH and I wanted to start the reception off upbeat. So we are dancing to 'Crazy little thing called love' by Queen. I want to take about 1 or 2 dance lessons, just to learn the basic steps of the lindy...it should be fun.

Dora!!! That is an awesome song! I wanted to use it, always dreamed that would be my wedding song, but my husband didn't like it so we nixed it.

Re: Wedding Song

Cliched but true - we are using 'Looks Like We Made It' by Shania Twain, mainly because the words fit us so perfectly, it's as if she wrote it for us. We were together 5.5 years before we got engaged with many, many bumps in the road and more than a few naysayers saying 'I bet they'll never make it.' I get all chocked up now everytime I hear it.

Re: Wedding Song

I like Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd, but my FH thinks the song is too fast. My FH is a huge Elvis fan, so a slim possibility is 'I Can't Help Falling in Love With You', (we rather have this for our second song).

Re: Wedding Song

I love that Joshua Kadison song - I have to have that played at my wedding sometime during the night.

Our song is Could not Ask for More by Edwin McCain.

Re: Wedding Song

Lisa W:

Yeah - I love that song too -- but I couldn't force the issue since it's really a man singing to a woman -- so it would have to be his choice. The thing was - my FI went through some rough times before we got together...

Anyway, my sister/MOH heard the song & loved it & knew it was perfect -- so on the sly she kept harping on my FI - 'That's got to be your song -- it's perfect...' then he finally bowed to the pressure, listened and loved it -- so he asked me if we could switch our first dance song!

Anyway -- if anyone's interested -- here's the lyrics:

'I Love You'
by: Climax Blues Band

When I was younger man I hadn't a care
Foolin' around, hitting the town, growing my hair
You came along and stole my heart when you entered my life
Ooh babe you got what it takes so I made you my wife

Since then I never looked back
It's almost like living a dream
And ooh I love you

You came along from far away and found me here
I was playin' around, feeling down, hittin' the beer
You picked me up from off the floor and gave me a smile
You said you're much too young, your life ain't begun, let's walk for awhile

And as my head was spinnin' 'round
I gazed into your eyes
And thought ooh I want you

Thank you babe for being a friend
And shinin' your light in my life
'cause ooh I need you

As my head was comin' round
I gazed into your eyes
And thought ooh I want you

Thanks again for being my friend
And straightenin' out my life
'cause ooh I need you

Since then I never looked back
It's almost like livin' a dream
Ooh I got you

If ever a man had it all
It would have to be me
And ooh I love you

Re: Wedding Song

Origionaly we were going to have 'Amazed' by Lonestar. Then I thought we agreed on 'Someone Like You' by Van Morrison. But he has't 'decided' whether he like it or not! He's making this more difficult then he needs to.

Re: Wedding Song

We are using 'To Make You Feel My Love' (Garth Brooks version). When we started dating, FH told me that to him, that was our song, and it just stuck ever since. That was almost 4-1/2 years ago.

Re: Wedding Song

We are having our first dance to 'At Last' Etta James, then we will have everyone join in for 'Truly' Lionel Richie. We love 'Evergreen' too, but we are going to use that instrumentaly in our ceremony. I think 'your song' has to make you & fi feel warm & fuzzy inside!

Re: Wedding Song

We are going to be using 'Heaven' by Bryan Adams. It was one that we both agreed upon. I originally wanted to use Frank Sinatra, 'The Way you look tonight' but he was not into it. I will be using that one for my father though.
