Wedding Song

Whats is everyone's wedding Song/First Dance Song?
Ours is 'you're my home' by Billy Joel

I haven't decided what to dance to with my dad yet...possibly, 'My Girl'

Re: Wedding Song

I am so confused with this.

I am thinking 'At Last'- Etta James

'I will always love you'-Taylor Dayne.

Re: Wedding Song

Our first dance song was 'All My LIfe' by Linda Rondstadt and Aaron Neville.
I danced with my stepfather to 'Through the Years.'

Re: Wedding Song

We had a really hard time deciding too....but just figured it out the other night. 'Can't Take My Eyes Off of You' - but not the Lauryn Hill version, the orginal by Frankie Valle. The words are awesome and its so fun b/c part of the song gets fast.

Our wedding song as of today is George Strait's 'I Cross My Heart'

I have NO idea what song I'm dancing to with my dad. Probably the good 'ole traditional 'Daddy's Little Girl'

We are dancing to I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm- it's a standard that Frank Sinatra sang- I thought it was cute b/c we are getting married 1/31 & it's a fun, swing tempo.

'always and forever'- our jerk friend laughed and said 'your kidding right?' when we told him this. He said everyone uses that song... well to us it has a special meaning, we would always hear it we would be driving together. What a stupid thing to say though!!! I was sooo ****ed... I said 'fine you don't have to dance to it!!!'

Re: Wedding Song

I LOVE 'at Last'....

by the way... not that I would want that version, but is it true that it was recently redone... maybe by Gloria Estefan, but not sure who?

we haven't decided our song yet, but I love reading about ideas!!!

Re: Wedding Song

Yes, thats it, Celine Dion!!!

I LOVE that song... I really do not love Celine Dion (I also do not love gloria estefan, which is why I was confused, I remember saying.. oh no, I love that song why did 'she' have to redo it?? No offense to people who appreciate those artists)

Re: Wedding Song

Leap - I love it! We were dancing to it in our apartment this week and so giddy that we figured it out and its a FUN song...especially the 'I LOVE YOU BAAAABY'

Re: Wedding Song

Mims: I felt EXACTLY the same way the first time I heard the Celine Dion version I was like why did she have to use my wedding song!!! as if she's going to mess it up. Christina Agulera (sp) likes to sing it too but I don't think she recorded a version.

Re: Wedding Song

Oh, you guys, I love 'can't take my eyes off you'!!!!
We are definitely using it as on of the dance songs during the party. I think my parent generation will really appreciate it, and I always wanted to dance to that song. But for our first dance we are using 'Dance me to the end of love...' by Leonard Cohen. We both love the music and especially the lyrics of that song, so it was the only one we could agree on!

Re: Wedding Song

OMG !! I really hope that Christina Aguilera does NOT do it,,,, to me, thats even worse than Celine Dion (I know thousands of people love both of these artists, I have very picky musical taste)
