FH thinks it should be 'By Your Side' by Sade but I know our band won't play it like we would want. Should I have the DJ pop in the CD or pick something else they will play.
I really wanted 'You and Me' by Lifehouse but FH nixed that for now.

did you ask your band to play it for you? sometimes a live band can sound just as beautiful. if not i would have the DJ play from a CD.

My band is all male. I have a croatian band and they play english and italian but Sade is def. not an option :(

I have been to weddings before, where they have a band, but the couple wanted the 'real' version of their wedding song. When your band takes a break, there will be a DJ right? They simply played it for their first dance, and let the band take over for the rest of the night...

Yes I hired a band and a dj. That is exactly what I was thinking of doing if we go with Sade.
Our band can play our first song because it was written by Irvin Berlin in 1932..but the version that we love is sung by Etta James. We are HUGE fans of her and have seen her in concert...she is something special to us so we already told our band that for that one song...they have to play the cd. They didnt seem thrilled...but they did understand that it was her voice singing the song that makes it so dear to us... if its that same feeling for you...then play the cd....
