After they play our song, I have asked the band to ask everyone to remain on the dance floor for my parents wedding song. I feel it will be a nice tribute to them. Does anyone think this is a good or bad idea?

I think its a beautiful idea.
Although I think you might want to do that at another part of the reception. I think right after the first dance is sort of a dramatic and romantic period that you might want to save for yourself. But if you can do the dedication to your parents later in the evening you will have 2 distinct emotional moments and more punctuated tribtue to your parents.

I think it sounds like a wonderful idea...in fact I am doing that as well. My parents 30th anniversary is the Monday before our wedding so I am going to have them dance to their wedding song also.
