wedding telemarketers...
OK, I put my phone number down on all those sheets when I was looking at halls and now its coming back to haunt me...actually my roommate...shes about to kill me... DJs, bands, photographers have been calling me and shes usually the one who is home and they talk to her like shes the bride...she is a bm, but I wouldn't want to listen to their spiel, why would she...so a few months ago we put our number on the NYS 'Do Not Call' list...but somehow only the wedding vendors have not stopped calling...today I sent in a complaint about one of these vendors and they can get fined up to $2000. I have most of my vendors booked and don't want these people to call me...actually even before I booked my vendors, I didn't want them to call... Just thought other people might be suffering... https://www.nynocall.com/index.html here's the website, if anyone wants...it could take up to 30 days to get your name on it though. (Mine has been on since March - so no excuses...also some people are allowed to call)

I know what you mean. It is so annoying. I also find that the same people keep calling me even though I have told them that I have already booked somewhere else. I got so much junk mail too. I got at least 3 peices a day. I don't even read them anymore. I just throw them out. Thanks for the web address.

yabbobay, I understand your frustration completely! We haven`t been to a bridal show in the longest time (over 2 years), and we`re still getting junk mail and phone calls!! When are they going to quit! I asked my fiance the other day, how many years do you think we`ll be married before these people stop sending us mail? Plus, we are getting stuff from recommended vendors of John Anthony`s .. and that bugs me. We just got a mailing from Spitz & Peck, telling us how well they know John Anthony`s, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, we booked Flowers by Brian in October!! I just throw the stuff out, and if the people are really annoyingly persistant, with more than one mailing or phone message, I call the vendor and complain and request to be removed from their list. Hal Lynman was the most annoying. How many times were we going to get that post card of the woman sucking down that cigar before they realized we weren`t interested?? Verdi and Park Avenue were also repeat offenders! Thanks for the website.

I hear you! I think I put my work number down at a show thinking at least they won't bother me at home, and now a million people call me at work. might I add these are not even people I would consider booking. I'd rather the mail, its harmless, BUT don't call me!

What I did was I put my cell phone number down, which is never turned on, so when these vendors call they can just leave a message, which of course I delete .Welcome New Vendors
