OMG!!! That was crazy and hilarious! ITA with the above brides, if I were to receive that gift, I to would have a W.T.F. moment and think it were a gift better for maybe a bridal shower but I of course would never tell the person my thoughts though. So rude of the brides! The guys replies were hilarious! A little mean at a comment or two but can you blame him?!?! Lol

Sometimes gift baskets add up to a lot… it sounds like a lot of the stuff they got was nice stuff…he mentioned godiva biscuits, gourmet breadcrumbs, etc. All that stuff can add up to 100 to 150 depending on whats inside, so we really don't know all the details to this. I agree that it's a bit casual for my taste as a wedding gift but i certainly would appreciate it…especially since they took the time to pick and choose items to go inside it.

that was too funny. but i must agree with him. you really shouldn't be doing this for the gifts. you should be doing it to gather everyone in your life you love to share this day with you. obviously. they were not close and only wanted his money.

i agreed with him too until the part that said something like you are lucky your sham of a marriage is legal. maybe i am reading it wrong or being too sensitive, but oh well

I agree. I didn't realize weddings were supposed to be fundraisers! I can't believe they were so greedy that they came up with a lie abouting being gluten intolerant to try and get a receipt to return the items. lol so ridic!

Totally crashing...this was hilarious. My 6 old niece would say 'you get what you get and you dont get upset' with that said...in LI you dont bring gifts to a wedding...its a hassle and unless you know the couple very well then you are only putting in what you think they would like and not what they do like. With that said I dont know how anyone would actually text the person...I just would probably distant myself from the person and give away the food. Some people dont even give gifts so chalk it up as a loss!

Thank you for posting this, it is SO funny! I have learned that people just get CRAZY when it comes to weddings! I mean, let's be real, many of us want money for our wedding - but that's not the reason to HAVE the wedding! My goodness! Some people are more traditional, or just prefer to give actual gifts. A gift is a GIFT, and while you can feel the way you want in private, you cannot demand money from people! That's the rudest thing ever!
