Wedding Thank You Time Frame

What is the standard time to get the thank you cards out to guests? I was under the impression that it was 3 months but we went to a wedding and still no card.

According to Emily Post they are supposed to be sent out ASAP but no longer then three months after the wedding. But it seems more couples are waiting longer - I got one 8 months after the wedding and another 5 months

When was the wedding?

I went to a wedding over Memorial Day weekend, and just got the the Thank You card about 2 weeks ago.

I went to a wedding Nov of 2003 and got the thank you in last month!

mine took a while because my pictures took a month to get back so i sent them out right at the 3 month mark. i think as long as you get a thank you i wouldnt mind waiting a lil longer for it. i have actually gone to parties especially for my dhs friends that we didnt get a thank you

I would say 3 months is the right amount of time to get the out and done. I had mine out right at the 3 month mark.

My sister got married the first weekend in April and we got the thank you sometime during the summer. A friend of mine got married the middle of May, I got her thank you sometime in August or September.

went to one about 5 months ago and no card...I think it depends on the person..

i am hoping to get ours out asap. i don't plan on including a traditional thank you pic, but i do want to include some candid shots of guests if they are any good. i should get the proofs from my photographer next week and will start the whole process next weekend...
