Hello, I'm considering having a wedding theme. I was thinking of a black and white classic wedding - with a long lasting marriage theme. People who have had long marriages have always inspired me and I want to honor the longest married couple at my wedding. I have all kinds of other ideas and I would appreciate any help. Is anyone planning on having a wedding theme?

The wedding theme is a great idea ...and its simple and very classy....Best of luck with everything ..and i love the whole honoring the married long couple!!!

Thats a really great idea!
I had an anniversary dance where all married couples go on the dance floor and the DJ would say anyone married under 5 years sit down, 10 years, 15 years etc till we got to 60 years and we had 2 couples left. Our longest married couple was married 63 years. We gave them a bottle of Champage.

FH and I are huge star wars fans so were thinking about a star wars theme....Han and Leia <3 I'm not talking about cheesy costumes and the leia buns....but small touches here and there...i still have time to think about it....

I can't think of a theme that suits us. FH is FDNY, huge into softball, loooves his pug... I'm NYC teacher, play soccer and love pigs! There's no way to incorporate our tastes without it being tacky
We are getting married in winter, so i think i'll add a little wintery touch, like crystals in the flowers, hot cocoas for viennese hour, maybe snowflakes on invites?
I am also planning to put up alot of pictures of us (and our parents at their weddings) to help personalize it

Hmmm what are some hobbies that you may share? Any special places for you-like where you met, got engaged or are honeymooning to? Any colors, flowers, icons that represent you both?

I would say start with your wedding colors and work out from there. I dont think every wedding needs a 'theme' but the colors are important.

I'm going to do a beach theme but I'm not really into blues as colors so I am going to go with sunset/sunrise colors like pinks yellows and tans. I'm so excited!

That's cool! What a great way to kick off that initial summer feeling
ITA with BellaRegina. I don't have a theme but I love stargazer lilies for my bouquet.. From that I decided I want my girls to wear black dresses with a toucb of pink somewhere- maybe bouquet, hair piece, sash, shoes or whatever! Since its Feb though I'm adding crystals to flowers and decor for an icy, wintery look. That's as much as theme for me!

not to be a total creeper---but i thought of you! I saw on some board that a bride and FH doing a Star Wars theme are being escorted into RH by 4 Stormtroopers!

LOL! Maybe costume rentals? There has got to be some party company to hire people for that!

Thats a good idea! We have a rental place by me, i should see how much it will cost. But who would i get to dress up? Its a full costume with a mask, so they would have to agree to that. Well see......

Idk if anyone attending your wedding would agree to it...maybe friends of siblings or something like tht who woudnt mind helping out for a half hour or so!
