I am contemplating my wedding time again and need some advice. We are having a Friday evening wedding in August and the ceremony will be at the venue. About 100 of our guests will be young (20's and 30's) and the other 100 will be older (aunts, uncles, parents' friends). We understand everyone will be working on Friday so we don't want to start that early but also we don't want to end that late because we are having a viennese hour. This is our timeline Hospitality and Ceremony: 1 hour Immediately following is cocktail hour: 1 hour Reception with extra hour: 5 hours
When do you think we should start the hospitality/ceremony?
THANK YOU

Re: Wedding Time
I voted for the 6pm start time because I'm also on a Friday in August and I feel like my 1:30 end time is too late.

Re: Wedding Time
Thanks!! It is so hard to decide because half of my guests don't care how late it goes but the other half are normally in bed by 10pm.

Re: Wedding Time
I voted for 6 just because it seemed like a good time. I'm sure most people would leave work a bit early it the need be.
Also, 1 is not so late that the older guests will still stay.

Re: Wedding Time
I said 6 to 1 also. I feel like anything after 1 is to late and for a friday you don't want to start too early since like you said people work.

Re: Wedding Time
My ceremony was on a Friday in July at a church and we after we had a hospitality hour at the RH from 6 to 7, the CH from 7 to 8, then reception from 8 to 12, and VH from 12 to 1am. No one complained and it flowed nicely!

Re: Wedding Time
I agree with the 6pm, even though mine is over at 1:30 I am not too worried because it starts later and if people leave at 1 I am ok with it. HTH

Re: Wedding Time
Our ceremony started at 6pm on a Sunday of the Columbus day weekend, and ended at 1:00am. It was perfect..everyone was getting pretty tired around 12:30.

Re: Wedding Time
I'd say 6:30 (though I hit 6 by mistake). People just have a better shot of getting out of work in time to make the ceremony then.
