Please help determine if my timeline below is reasonable. My ceremony is approx 30 minutes long, I'm inviting 150 guests (including the BP), the drive to RH is 35 minutes and Cocktail hour starts at 7pm (I don't care if I miss it). I was originally going to start at 5pm...but that might be too close. Here's the timeline now. What do you all think?
4:30-5 Ceremony (Including Processional) 5-5:30 Receiving Line 5:30-6:15 Family Photos 6:15-7 DH and I photos 7-7:30 Drive to CH.

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
what has your photographer suggested?
and where are you taking pics? will it be at the RH or are you going to another location? this will also be a big factor.
My CH is at 7:30 and our photographer suggested 2:30 for us to do the ceremony

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
sounds similar to mine. My church starts at 4 and my rh is 45 minutes away but you have to remember traffic. I am getting married on a friday so I am almost positive we will hit traffic and I really want to have enough time to take pics so I would say no later than 4:30 but 4pm would be great

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
Thanks for your feedback Espo...you've really been incredibly helpful with all my posts..and I'm very grateful! I already booked the ceremony site...it's just a barn, and I can have the ceremony at any time I want. I'm pretty sure we're taking pictures there right after the receiving line, and then driving over to the Reception Hall. I really don't want my guests to have a huge lag....but I also want to account for some mishaps along the way. I never thought to ask the photographer...and that's a great idea.
JTeach...what time is your ceremony? Thanks for helping me to figure this out.

awww you're welcome
ok if you're doing pics at ceremony site then that helps alot. Your plan above sounds good but also at the same time it doesn't leave room for mishaps such as traffic or anything like that...But then again you said you dont care about arriving to the CH...i suggest 4 or 4:30

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
Our CH is at 7:00pm also, with about a 30 min drive b/w Church and RH. Our ceremony is at 3:00pm which was the latest the church would allow us to do it (like Espo said above).....I'm happy we have this much time, b/c we definitely want to be at the CH--why miss it if you don't need to? I would do the ceremony at 4:00....

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
i would go with 4pm.... you should account for the possibly of traffic and bad weather. Plus you dont want to be rushed and you should take 20-30 mins with FH to just breathe and enjoy each other b/4 the craziness of the reception. plus, you may not care too much about the CH, but your BP may want to be there.

Re: Wedding Timeline POLL
I'm getting married on a Friday, and we're having our ceremony at 4:30, and CH at 7:30. We too are having just a ceremony, but it was important for us to make the CH - we want to go!
I would atleast start the church by 4:30, I think 5 might be cutting it too close.
