So I'm popping into a wedding tonite to see our venue set up and check out the DJ. Has anyone done this yet? FH is freaking out but we have the approval of the bride so i don't feel so awkward.

I haven't done it, but if you have the bride's approval then it's the perfect way to see everything before your actual day! Maybe I can spy on some of our Fox Hollow brides-to-be

My venue lets me come an hour before cocktail hour to see it set up. I did it once before signing the contract and I'm planning on going to one next week. Nothing to freak out about since the bride and groom probably did the same thing.

I haven't done it, but I'd like to. It's awesome that the bride it letting you pop in! I would definitely let someone do that at my wedding.

FH and I were planning on crashing a wedding at our venue on our one year mark to see how it looks and sample to cocktail hour. We even were thinking of stories we could come up with to say how we knew the bride and groom. Unfortunately we won't be able to do that since plans popped up but we are thinking of taking a ride out there next month to see how it's set up.
That bride is super sweet to allow u to see it. I think I would allow someone who wants to check out it out.

Don't crash someone's wedding and make up stories. Just ask the bride nicely. If someone asked me i'd certainly be ok with it but I would be completely pissed if someone just decided to crash.
You shouldn't be eating someone else's food from their cocktail hour. They are not paying for you to be there. Im sorry... I'm glad you are not doing it. It's not right IMO.

Fh and I went to Westbury manor last night for dinner. I was able to peek into the manor room as it was being set up and it changed the whole thing for me. Cocktail hour had started and I am so thankful we were able to do this. After we ate our banquet manager invited us to walk the gardens and it s breathtaking. We did not have permission of the bride and I never thought to ask simply because we were not bumping into the parties at all. So to whoever got married last night at WM in the manor room I Loved your centerpieces!

I to booked Westbury manor for april 2013. I havent gotten a chance to see it all setup though. i went to sundays ago but it was raining so they had it set up for an indoor wedding?
how was the food? i heard it was amazing i still have to try it.
I would have loved to see centerpiece ideas im sooo lost on what i want to do.

We get a private tasting and are going to our venue for mothers day brunch. I never even thought to see if we could go to the venue before another wedding to check it out. If any ladies are getting married at The Venetian Yacht Club Im getting married on July 27, 2013 and you are more than welcome to come check it out just come over and say hi if Im there!
