Wedding Trends

Since I never posted my last question and I saw this on another site, I'll ask
Which wedding trends do you love and which are you so over? Also those who got married what did your guest love and what could you have done without?

What I love: Photobooths. They are so fun and I just love the style pics and getting dressed up in the props. It's a nice way to break up your dancing or give your non dancing guests something to do.

What I could've done without: Garter/bouquet toss. Sometimes it's funny but it was just super awkward as my sister caught the boq and my husbands best friend beat my sisters bf for the garter. Awkwarddd

The only 'trendy' thing I think I did was the photobooth and everyone LOVED it! I thought most people would have been to parties with one of those already but surprisingly a lot of people were surprised by that and people really went nuts over it. It was also tons of fun to get the pictures and videos afterwards.

Tired of photobooths, so surprised that other brides are still into them! Guess I am not a great trend judge!
Loved mullet dresses at first, not so much now.
I think that non-strapless dresses will become more popular. Now, strapless outnumbers straps and sleeves 8 out of ten! I actually had to have a halter neckline added to mine.
Think mason jar decor is on the way out.
Love the new focus on gold as a wedding color. LOVE gold in weddings!

I didn't actually do it, but I love when the bridesmaids all have a different dress in the same color. I'm also still loving the photobooths. Guests get so into it and it's great to be able to keep their photos as memories.

I'm over the garter toss. I just find the whole process awkward haha Also, I'm personally a fan of a white bouquet for the bride. I think some brides have AMAZING colored bouquets, but something about all white to me is just so classic and bridal.

I'm having a photobooth which I have wanted since day one. None wof the 10+ wedding FH and I have gone to together have had them so I'm looking forward to it. Also, we just found out that there's a video option that guests won't know about but we'll get to watch afterwards! Awesome! I'm also doing different styles for my bridesmaids, in the same color, length and fabric. The junior will be in a different color than the big girls, but they also have different styles.
We've decided to not do the boq or garter toss. We're the last of our friends to get married so there won't be many single people there. We don't know what to do instead, however. Need some help in that department.

Crashing!!!

I havent been to any weddings with the photobooth, and while I love the idea --i figured it was played already only because I see it advertised and blogged about so heavily.

A trend I think is picking up?? Well after visiting roughly 12+ venues, I'd say the 'after party'/Midnight snacks/farewell tokens are really going to pick up some steam eventually.

That being said, what I really dont care for and WILL NOT being doing at mine: FAVORS!!! I just think they are silly and useless...unless they are something real unique and functional and purposeful in some way. I am just so glad we are past the days of chocolate covered almonds and tiny ribbons wrapped around lenox pieces that sit in my moms china cabinet collecting dust.

I agree with the bouquet and garter toss... Instead of doing the bouquet toss, I am going to give my FH's grandmother the bouquet and than he is going to dance with her, she is the only living grandparent we both have and we felt like it was the nicest way for us to honor her.

nice idea. we dont have any living grandparents but are trying to figure out 2 different ways to 'Get rid of' the bouq's

we will do a regular toss and maybe the anniversary thing where whoever has the longest marriage will 'win'

What I love: Garter/bouquet toss! I'm so traditional it's crazy!

Do without: Photobooth. I just don't think it has a place in a wedding. I would rock out in one at someone else's wedding. But I can't see adding it to my own. It just isn't me or my FH.

I love the whole rustic themed wedding that people have but I think it's going to start phasing out. I was going to try this but I'm not creative enough to execute this at a banquet hall. lol
