wasnt there a great undergarmets store somewhere on the island that folks were talking about? last night i tried Lord & Taylor in the city for spanx and what not - wasnt really thrilled with the selection.
what id really love is a corset, but sadly, my dress is too low in the front and back for that... sigh.

I went to Mary's Corsettieres in Woodbury. A really old school looking kind of place. Advice, go on a weekday a few minutes before they open so you're the first customer and can get in and out quickly! Its not fun to wait if you don't have to.
The first one they gave me I really disliked and so did my alterations lady, so I went back and I exchanged for the one I ended up using on the day. The top of the corset had the potential to stick out a bit with my dress (it was a full cup) but my alterations lady just sewed the tops of the cups down a bit and I had no issue at all.
Corsets are generally lower in the back than the front too. They can really alter the corset to fit you and your gown - either at mary's or with your dress alterations lady.

There's also Blum's in Patchogue. They have been there forever. I went there and the staff was amazing. Very helpful and they have a large selection. I would suggest checking them out too.

Oh yeah and bring in pictures of your dress, front and back so they can find the one that suits it best! They dont do refunds but they will exchange.
