Wedding Venue

Hi guys
We are both Irish and are planning on getting married in NY hopefully in the summer of 2010. As we got engaged in Central Park we would love to get married there. We are hoping to have about 50 guests and would love a very informal reception. We have yet to find a venue and would love if anyone had any suggestions?

Tavern on the green maybe? it may be a little pricey not sure but its right in central park!! so that would be a cute idea to incorporate your enagement!

Welcome and congrats!!! the only place I can think of is the Tavern on the green... But I know it is very expensive there !!!

if your thinking central park, i would check out some restaurants nearby, that might be your best bet for 50 people. good luck! and congrats!

Welcome and Congrats!!!

If you are doing the ceremony in the park, I would say try a local restaurant... I know of Trattoria Dopo Teatro. It has a private room where they hold small wedding receptions.

Not that I know of personally, but I remember in an episode of Amazing Wedding Cakes...one of the bakeries mentioned that on weekends no cars are permitted in Central Park; therefore, it makes it difficult to make deliveries.
