Wedding Venue suggestions for 85 guests

Hi,

I am new to this board. I am searching for a venue for my son and fiance. They live in North Carolina.

I love the look of the Rivera. My future DIL originally wanted a barn type wedding, but the final prices are too high.

Wondering what is the minimum for the Rivera venue? I only have about 85 people. They are on a budget as well, and wondering what the per person rate starts at. Any information will be appreciated or suggestions will be appreciated.

I went to a Chateau Briand, the price was very good, but the place was a little too modern. We are limited by the little head count as well. A few places I called had minimums that were higher.

Try the Irish coffee pub in east Islip. I think they cater to smaller minimums.

I see you got married at Fox Hollow. I actually love the Winter Garden room, but my younger son picked it for his wedding in 2017.

Are they set on a certain day of the week or time of year? If you look to Sundays or daytime weddings during the off season, venues will probably work with you on a minimum and a price. Ive heard the rivera does a great job and is a good price.

Also, there are some venues that do all inclusive packages (think 10,000 for 100 people) and includes dj, flowers, photo etc. some of the lessings venues offer that, as well as some of the rooms at east wind

They have to get married in the summer, as future DIL has a 15 year old son, that cannot miss HS classes. End of June, July, August. They are very open to times and dates. I did call the Rivera, and she has some dates available in the summer. Her minimum is 100, that could include vendors and children that I will be having. I worry that the price she gave me over the phone was very low.I hope the quality of food will not suffer for the low price. I have only been to 1 other place, Chateau Briand, which was was more expensive. I have an appointment on Saturday evening.

I love the Sommerly that you are getting married. But there minimum is high, 150 guests.

Re: Wedding Venue suggestions for 85 guests

I have heard good things about the food at the Riveria, so I wouldn't worry about that. You may also be able to negotiate additions throw ins if you cannot hit the minimum.

Summer is going to be a little harder to find low minimums because it is peak season. I think you will probably have the best luck finding prices/minimums that work for you for either a day wedding, Sunday, or like a Thursday evening.

Thank you, I love the Somerley too. My minimum is actually higher than that - we have a 170 person min. for 2 weeks from today.

Re: Wedding Venue suggestions for 85 guests

My cousin got married at the Three Village in in Stony Brook a few years ago. She maxed out the room at around 110-120pp (and it was tight), so 85 should be just perfect. It definitely has a more traditional feel. The food was delicious! She got married in February and got a great deal, but not sure about the summer.
