Wedding Venues-HELP!!

Wedding Venues-HELP!!

So far we have narrowed down our choices to Watermill and Venetian Yacht Club, however, we like both for different reasons. If I could blend both, I would. We are looking for a June-July 2010 date, and would like to take into consdieration the 'rain factor'. Has anyone been married at either place have good/negative things to say?

Also, can anyone recommend a nice, reasonably priced place on the water that would accomodate 250 guests?

Thanks so much!!!

we almost booked the venetian but we were worried about the room size. What do you like abou both places? I would say go back to both places on the same day and look at EVERYTHING. The way they set the tables, linens, chairs, everything! sit down at a table and imagine what ut would be like at your wedding. This is what we had to do because I was stuck between two places. One thing...you can not find another view like the venetian! but once the party gets started is everyone still goign to be looking at the view or will it be drained out? thats what it came down to with us. I said if you could pick up the inn and put it where the VYC is then it would be perfect haha! Good luck

What are you looking for, aside from on the water? Are there certain wants/needs you have? VYC and Watermill are different, what about each one draws you in?

I have not attended any functions at VYC, but did look at it for my wedding when it was John Anthony's. I did not book it b/c I felt the grounds were not 'enough' for me. Also, DH talked me out of having an 'On-The-Water' wedding

I attended a baby shower at the Watermill. Food was god. Service was good as well. My only 'issue' was that as we were walking out at the end of the party, a bride, groom and bridal party were arriving. So here she was running into her guests as well as these other random guests from other functions. That was something I did not want at my own wedding.

Both places are different on their own way so is a little confused... If you want another option Tatched cottage is a great option too..

Well...we looked at a few places because we also wanted to be on the water this included the Ventian, Atlantica (Westhampton), and some others. We ended up booking the first place we looked at which was Lombardi's on the Sound. Its on a cliff in Port Jeff and you can drive down to the beach for pictures. The cost for us was the Thursday price (even though we are the Monday of Columbus Day) at $90 pp. You have to add 18% for gratuity and if you want to have your ceremony there its an additional $1200 but they have a ton of food which is great (we just attended a bridal showcase at Villa Lombardi's) and the place can easily accomodate 250 people
