Wedding Venus and Engagement

Hello all the future brides.

I thought i'd be fun to share everyones opinions on wedding venues. My fiancee and I just recently got engaged and will start to look at venues in the upcoming months.

Also, how long is everyones engagement?

We will have about a 14 month engagement. Our e-party was at Swan Club and wedding will be at Jericho Terrace.

Depends on what kind of 'theme' you are going for....if you want a bigger more elaborate place then somewhere like Chateau la Mer would be great...if you want something more simple but still pretty...then Vineyard Caterers might be the way to go (maybe I'm a little bias ) Do you want it on the water? Vineyard?

My engagement will be 18 months!

I've been looking at the Swan Club online. It looks beautfiul, espically with all the gardens. I'll def look to check out the Swan Club..

My future sister-in-law got married at the Jericho Terrace 2 years ago, it was very nice!

Swan Club was my 3rd place choice. They had outrageous prices for November 2011 - I think it was $60pp for a Friday night! My cousin got married there in June 2001 and it was OUTRAGEOUS! She had a CH in that garden room that was gorgeous.

We booked at Crest Hollow because we wanted that much more formal, elaborate RH feel. I didn't care about being in a place with other brides (generally, they will book up to 2 weddings at a time - at least in November 2011), but I did want quality service, a gorgeous entrance, and good food. Their base price for Nov. 2011 on a Friday night was $76pp, Saturday was $86pp, Sunday was $69pp. I booked in January so things might have changed since then.

Our 2nd place choice was North Ritz Club. We almost booked there which would have been nice b/c it is one wedding at a time, but we needed a place that would do a hospitality hour for us between church and the cocktail hour, and they couldn't accommodate us. I think it was about $85pp for a Friday night there.

We had our e-party at Dao, an upscale Asian-fusion restaurant in Huntington and it was EXCELLENT!

I also saw: Thatched Cottage, Fox Hollow, and Jericho Terrace so if you want info about those experiences, feel free to FM me!

Welcome to LIW - this will become your addiction!

We will be at the two year mark when we get married-- our RH is Floral Terrace and i feel likes its a hidden gem-- it is beautiful one bride @ a time venue-- but if you want an outdoor area this is not the RH to look at

My engagement will be 1 1/2 years. I'm getting married at Vineyard Caterers and I am obsessed. Love the country feel of the North Fork.

We got engaged December of 2009 and we're getting married November 2010. So it'll be an 11 month engagement!

We saw a few reception halls and decided to go with Douglaston Manor!
