That is a great question. I was considering getting a video until i saw the prices. they must be crazy to charge so much! I keep telling myself i wont regret it. i dont even rent movies or go the movies, i cant imagine watching my own wedding video!!

I have a friend who just got married May 7th, and they did not do the video due to prices etc. She said the one thing she regrets is not having the video, because it flies so fast, she wished she had something to look back on to watch it. Pictures say 1000 words, but they don't put you there like a video does.

I'm not going to get one. Everyone says I should just splurge, but I can't ever see me or my FH sitting down and watching it. We are going to bring our camcorder (it's a tiny one) to the reception. That way we can film a little our selves and add our own narratives.
My cousin did it and he was happier with his mini recording than the videographers.

We weren't going get a video either. I just posted something on craigslist and had my video done with someone who was experienced for much cheaper. My DH was not too happy about having one at ALL. I convinced him that I'll watch it. ![]()
About a week after the wedding he mentioned that he can't wait to see it because it went by sooo fast. Plus everyone was enjoying the wedding and we weren't able to see some of what was going on. I saw a few things in pictures that I don't recall ever seeing. I believe the video will surprise me with things I missed.
I think I would have regretted not getting video if I didn't. JMO.

Same here. I also had a friend who regretted not having a video for the same reasons. She had thought that her family members would capture most of the moments on their personal videos but it didn't turn out that way.
