Wedding video!
I know some people are looking for cheaper videography options, so I just thought I'd put this out there.
I recently got married, and I knew going into the wedding planning process that I would really like for us to have a videographer to capture the day. However, my husband and I were paying for the wedding ourselves, and after getting a few quotes, it became pretty apparent that there was no way we would be able to fit video into our budget.
Thankfully, a good friend of mine volunteered to shoot some video of the wedding as part of his gift to us. Woohoo! He has a degree in video from the School of Visual Arts and works as a video editor and graphic designer for a hotel in NYC, so I figured why not give this a shot. However, I wasn't expecting too much because (1) he has never done a wedding before and (2) it was important to me that he also enjoy his time as a guest of our wedding and not just shoot video the whole time.
I was pleasantly surprised when I came back after the honeymoon because he had already had everything done. I got a trailer, a 35-min cut of the highlights (entire ceremony, dances, speeches, etc), and a copy of all the raw footage as well. I gotta say, the final product has exceeded our expectations! For those interested in looking, the trailer video can be found here: https://vimeo.com/98779847
He really enjoyed working on this project and is now thinking of trying to make this into a side business. He seems to be willing to work for pretty cheap in order to help build his portfolio. So, if anyone's interested just FM me and I can send along his contact info.
