Wedding video - edit later???

Can you send the raw footage to be edited later?

FH and I are paying for everything ourselves and obviously can afford to spend $5000 on the video aspect. We are going to have a videographer... but can we take the raw footage to one of these fantastic studios later and get a fabulous wedding video? I was thinking it would be a nice 1 yr anniversary present to each other.

Oh and how much you think this would cost???

I think you can defintiely do this, ut I would not anticipate it costing much less than having that person shoot it in the first place.

First of all, the bulk of what you pay for in wedding videos is the editing, not the shooting.

Also, if you are taking it someone other than the people who shot it, they may say it is more work because they don't have control over the raw footage, to get the things they want.

I would try to stick with the same person. We really liked Rob at Couped up because he also edits the videos so he shoots them with an editor's eye.

Also, keep in mind that you don't pay the full balance on the cideo package until after the wedding, and you may be able to upgrade later.

Have you checked out Couped Up? The prices are pretty reasonable.

If you're looking at one of the $5000 people, then I would ask them directly if you can pay for just the shooting, then pay for editing later.

my friend did this (getting raw video) but their not having luck finding a videog who wants to do the editing. they are being told that since they did not do the actual capturing, they do not want to edit the video even if my friend pays for it. they said they don't want to put their 'name' on the edited version?!?

I tried to do the same thing and I got a quote for $1500-$200 to edit the video and if they cannot do a great job that their name can stand by they will refuse to take the job.

I honestly regret not doing the great video and spending more money on it. But I got a basic video...I hope to do a TTD video to compensate
