Wedding Website?
What website are you ladies using for your wedding websites? I loved the knot and it's so easy to use, but I'm not finding a design I'm in love with. FH thinks I have too much time on my hands to be complaining about the style options lol. Any suggestions?

Re: Wedding Website?
Def check out weddingwire.com They have lots of cute and clean looking layouts, and are pretty easy to use and navigate. Our friends and family loved the guestbook and music suggestion feature. A lot have already submitted their music requests for our dj. You can link your bridal registry and hotel block sites there too.

I don't think its too late. A friend of mine sent out a mass Facebook invitation to their wedding website when they updated it with their hotel block info. She said some of her guests checked it out for the first after she sent the Facebook invite. Apparently some were too lazy to type the link provided on the save the date, so it was easier for them to click to it through Facebook lol

It looks so professional, I love it! i'm a big fan of websites that are clean and not cluttered looking, so kudos to your FH! :) This must have been so time consuming for him to code all this too. I took a class on how to create websites back in college, and had to drop it it was so hard...and it was an intro to web development lol

A lot of people use them to give guests the out of town/hotel block information in advance instead of just with the invites. I have to have FH add our hotel info to the website. We have a lot of OOT (a lot from out of the country and on the west coast) who are looking to book flights and accommodations now.
Its also a nice way for people to get to know the couple. Like I mentioned above... a lot of my family is not in NY. For my family abroad and on the other side of the country... its a nice way for them to see FH and I as a couple. A lot of them don't have a facebook so when they got our STDs ... that was the first photo they saw of us together and since we included our website on the STD... they all went right to it and were suddenly even MORE involved in our life.
Some people also use it as a way for guest to RSVP. That's something I PERSONALLY would never do... but... some people do.

Wedding Website?
I don't have alot of our of town guest, so I haven't decided if we need a hotel block yet. Everyone that is out of town are out friends from high school and their families all still live here so most of them already said they were going to stay with them. We aren't inviting family that 'doesn't know us' if u know what I mean. So I don't see the point for us.....but I was told it is a good idea.....idk I guess I'll have to figure it out soon plans on mailing std by the end of the month!

We don't have a lot of OOT guests either so we didn't make a hotel block. The hotel next door to our venue said they couldn't give it to us if we didn't guarantee at least 10 rooms. Those that are coming from OOT for the most part have their own places to stay. So I just provided the information on the website for those that may want to stay overnight.

If you don't mind me asking, what else do you have in your website? Other than the next by hotel? It would be very helpful in making my decision thank u!!

I found theknot and weddingwire to be difficult to use. Not very user friendly.
