Wedding Week help...

HELP....

My uncle is in the process of a bitter divorce and has 2 young girls (5 and 7). He's an integral part of my life and plays a large roll in my wedding. Well, he's from NC and is coming up for my wedding, but because he dispises his soon to be ex, he wants her to have nothing to do with ANYTHING of this wedding. Well, he told my mom last night that he doesn't even want his ex to buy his daughters dresses for the wedding...and then says to my mom 'well, we'll just get the girls dresses when I come up to NY with them.' HE'S COMING IN 2 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING?!

Mom says to me, don't worry, we'll have time....TIME?! Two days before the wedding and we'll have time....

Well, here's where I need help...what exactly gets done 2 days before the wedding? I honestly don't think we'll have time, but maybe I'm just being unreasonable....

ANY HELP????? THANK YOU LADIES!!!

Why don't you find out there sizes now and get the dresses now so that way if for some reason they are too long etc you can quickly have them altered. Most likely if you get their size right they will fit. My niece is 7 and anything I've ever bought her in her size (esp dresses) has always fit. Just a suggestion. Also, if you want inexpensive cute dresses try JCPenney . Search their Cinderella dresses, very cute. You could also buy them online, ship them to his house and have them try them on to see if they fit.

My first thought is that although your uncle is going through a tough time, this is not your problem. There must be someone else who can help get them dresses. I'm not sure how fancy you need their dresses to be or how much they are looking to spend, but there are stores like Estelle's and other places where they carry various sizes and are somewhat affordable and you walk out with the dress. Don't panic, it may all be okay.

Im not sure what goes on 2 days before but I know myself and it wouldn't be reasonable for me to jump in and start saving this situation. Im sure there are are family members who love these girls and can help them even though their mom is not there.

Also, like someone just suggested you can always get their size and buy a few ahead of time. Just make sure they have a good return policy.

I would find dresses now and do this. Even maybe get 2 for each of them to give them a choice and then ask your uncle to ship them back so you can return the ones they don't want. I would definitely want to try to work this out sooner if possible.

You can also pick out a dress at a chain store
ie davids bridal

That way you can pick them out and they can try them on and buy them in NC

Re: Wedding Week help...

My sister's wedding was last July. 2 days before the wedding there was not much to do besides personal grooming. You will have already dropped your final payment, cake server, cake topper, place cards, favors, etc about a week before to your RH. You will just be running around taking care of yourself, but you won't have time to go looking for dresses. I'm sure the girls have some nice dresses in their closet that they can bring with them to NY.

GOOD NEWS!

Mom finally listened to me and bought a few dresses ahead of time. These little girls are so bratty that they will literally look at you and dead straight in the eye will say, 'No I dont like that and I wont wear it.' So my mom bought a few dresses for them to pick the one they want.

I can't handle family drama and BS anymore...UGH

Thanks for your ideas ladies!!! I appreciate all the advice and support!!!
