****Wednesday QOTD****

Happy 6+6=12 day!

Wedding related: What have you cut back on or given up in order to save for the wedding?

NWR: Besides a house or car, what was your hugest splurge?

WR- We moved into a smaller place to save the money from rent. I also buy more of whatever is the cheapest concerning food. Meaning, if the name brand is more money, I will go for the store brand. Some things I can not buy store brand is chicken, ketchup, mustand and mac and cheese. I just cant phyically do it. I tried doing with with hair products and it didnt end well. My hair was not happy with me. haha

NWR: Besides my laptop, my biggest purchase would have to be a Michael Kors bag. I spent over $300 i think. Since then, I had to pay rent and bills so I was never able to bring myself to buy a bag that expensive again. Now I just ask for them for Christmas!!

WR- I'm much more conscious about how much I spend. I haven't bought a new handbag in quite some time. Also, pregaming a lot before going out to the bar

NWR- Yikes....oh geez I don't even know where to begin. I've had wayyyyyy too many to name. I love clothes and accessories! I worked in retail for 7+ years and I would buy things because with my discount I felt like I was getting the deal of a lifetime. I've spent 100s of dollars on a single bag, pair of shoes, sunglasses, and even jeans.

WR- Just tried to cut back on all the extra things like a rolls royce limo and huge centerpieces.

NWR- I would honestly say my daughter. We have spent a massive amount of money on her. Her first birthday alone is costing us about 900.00 and her last pageant cost us about 600.00. I cant even imagine how much we spent on her this last year. I would not have it any other way she is our Number 1!!!

I am a crazy couponer!!!! Not as bad as the show but I do come home with a ton of free items every trip! I will stock pile a bunch of items for cheap and then live off of it for months and only have to purchase items like fruits, veggies, meat and dairy.

biggest splurge... probaly my iphone.

WR: I definitely go shopping/eat out less. I'm also going to downsize centerpieces to put money toward other aspects of the wedding.

NWR: Definitely getting invisalign was my biggest splurge! I figure we're going to spend so much on photography and videography that I should be happy with my smile!

WR: We try not to go out to eat as much as we used to. We also have been cutting stuff like getting professional parent albums and instead are opting to do parent albums through something like shutterfly.

NWR: We don't have a house and I've never bought a car (my car now was given to me by my grandparents when their DR told them not to drive anymore) . I guess my biggest splurge has been my laptop (which wasn't too bad). I may have to splurge on a new camera soon, mine is on it's way out

WR: I have definitely cut back on my shopping. Last year before I was engaged I was shopping every weekend. Now I don't shop at all. I love shoes and I have not bought a pair of shoes in a while.

NWR: I would have to say cell phones and shoes.

NWR: I took FH to an AI in mexixo for his 30th - that was a splurge but it was worth it

WR: Definitely the going out to eat. We've been eating a lot of pasta recently. And I can not tell you the last time I went out and bought a new pair of pants or shirts. Though I might go CRAZY and buy a new pair of swimwear bottoms at... Wal-Mart this week!

NWR: We did replace his/our xbox a couple of months ago. We wouldn't be able to survive without it, I don't think. It's our TV (via Netflix), gaming center and move theater all in one. And this way we're not both contending for computer usage as much.

WR: We're not going out nearly as much. We actually went through our DVD's recently and split them into 'Seen' and 'Not Seen', so now on the weekends we make some popcorn and pop in a DVD.

NWR: Last summer we splurged on three tickets to take my son to see Monday Night Raw at the Coliseum. We bought the tickets kind of late and Ticketmaster was sold out, so we went through a third party and they ended up costing us three times the regular price! It was totally worth it though.

WR: i don't know if we've made any big cuts. we've always been frugal - i hattteeeee spending money on things, and i hate going shopping - so we've just gone about our business as usual. i have definitely tried to find the lowest-cost options for food, household supplies, etc, but that also grew out of doing more for myself instead of not knowing anything about shopping when I lived at home.

NWR: i bought the sensepil laser treatment system off groupon a few months ago when it was on sale for $230. i rarely even buy anything over $100 so that was a huge splurge but so worth it!

We try to eat out less and we arent shopping for ourselves as much. We also went from really wanting a Sat wedding to switching to a Sunday because it saved us $30pp!

Our biggest recent splurge was booking our trip to Cabo for next month. We both soooo need a vaca and cant wait to leave.

We definitely eat out a LOT less and try to do things that are inexpensive. I've definitely cut down on shopping and FH had to cut back with buying things for his guns.

NWR: I just bought a free standing air conditioner for our apartment. We have sliding windows and only one air conditioner in the wall for the whole place. It's been so hot up here in Roch. It was a necessary splurge.

Wedding savings - Probably going out to eat as much. We're better about cooking at home and when we do go out - either using groupon, restaurants.com, or going someplace less expensive.

Otherwise my biggest splurge - - this really shouldn't count, but its plane tickets to go to florida for the holidays and spent it with FH's family. Just dropped $500 for two round trip tickets.. from Islip to MCO direct, non-stop both ways.

Shouldn't really count as a splurge because its allowing him to see his full family for the first time since December 2010, but... it is by far the most I've spent lately.

Def. shopping and weekend actitivites..before wedding bills i just paid my regular bills and was able to not worry what i spent extra.

NWR : biggest splurge hmm actually when i spend money on others i tend to do this. my biggest and expensive things come from FH. after i say i am interested in something he usually ends up saving up and getting it for me.
