Did anyone get married on a wednesday or attend a wedding on a wednesday? Mine is on a wednesday and i'm just thinking about what might happened to myself or my guests. Would love to hear how things went out.
Also is anyone getting married on a wednesday? Any problems?
Thanks in advance...

Re: Wednesday wedding???
My friend had a Thursday wedding at 6pm and loved every minute of it. Why would there be complications?

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I don't know, I just that a wedding on a wednesday right in the middle of the week where people have to come from work and have to go back the next day might be a little hectic. All the weddings I've been to were on Saturday so the whole wednesday is new to me. Just want to know if there's anything that I should pay attention to from the experiences of others out there.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
honestly, if I were invited to a Wednesday wedding, I wouldn't go unless it was someone REALLY important to me.
I get up at 5 am. I have to go bed at like 9:30 on weeknights to be rested for the next day... and I can't just call in sick to work whenever I want...
If I went, I'd leave really early, by 9 at the latest.
However, that said, perhaps that's a good thing - the people who truly care about you and are important will of course come, and then those obligation invites might decide they can't be bothered

Re: Wednesday wedding???
Since your wedding is the day after X-mas, a lot of people are in good spirits for a wedding. Yes, there might be people who cannot come because they have to work the next day or that day, and there might be people who have to leave early, but there are also a lot of people who have that week off or take it because the kiddies are home from school!

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I'm having my wedding on a Thursday night. During the week weddings are becoming quite popular. Since your guests will get invitations early it will give them time to coordinate their schedules. I don't see anythiing wrong with it.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
if i was invited and it wasn't super close, I might leave early for work the next day, then again a lot of people might be taking off the day after xmas anyway.
All the same, its your day and date and dont worry about trying to please everyone. If you are happy, then thats all you can control.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
we're having a wedding on a thursday (this thursday actually AHHHHH!!!) and we received about 25 nos out of 117 invite however about 20 of the 25 was FH's old family members who are either too sick or dont have rides to the wedding. everyone else took off from work a long time ago! STD's are the best things to do if you're having a wedding during monday-thursday.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I think the people who want to be there will come regardless of the day. My only concern with the date is that is is the day after Christmas and many people may be traveling then.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I have never been to a Wednesday wedding, but I think because it is the day after Christmas you may have more people than any other Wednesday during the year. Many people take vacation, school is out, etc. The people who are most important to you WILL be there, so try not to worry too much!

Everyone is different and maybe your guests don't work, or love events that are during the week, or love when they have a 1/2 day of work, etc.....every person's situation is different. hmmm.....I personally would not attend a Wednesday wedding unless it's someone SUPER close to me. I would not go if it were distant family. I never take off work for someone i'm not close with. JMO.
I'm sure everything will turn out great!

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I attended a Tuesday wedding once. It was a little tough, but I had a fairly easy work schedule that week so it worked out. People were surprised about the Tuesday wedding and a lot of people that I told about it said that they wouldn't go. However, since your wedding is holiday time, people may be on vacation. Can you speak to the people you want to invite to gauge their feelings on the day?

Re: Wednesday wedding???
the people who want to be there will be there!
as for taking off, i know at a lot of jobs - taking off around the holidays is a little difficult.
I have a really flexible job - and I can pretty much take ANY day off. . however for the days around thanksgiving. christmas, new year's and three day weekends - i have to put in for them about 6 months in advance and then only those with seniority get preference. . . so it may be a little tough!!
i may not get the Friday after Thanksgiving off for my friend's wedding BUT if they do that I will just have to call in sick bc it is important for me to be there!

Re: Wednesday wedding???
I think your situation is a little different...you are doing it the day after Christmas and many people have off... so I wouldn't worry. It sounds fun to have a wedding in the middle of the week.

Re: Wednesday wedding???
Im sure it wont be a problem for many people- its the day after xmas so some people may have already taken off. Just make sure you send save the dates a few months before the invitations so people have enough time to plan for it- send them about 7 months before.
