When you went to look at reception halls, did any of you find out how much you can save by doing it on a weekday? If so, what was the least expensive quote they gave you and where was that? I'm looking for late August, early September. I'm inviting approx. 200 guests. Once again thanks in advance

Do you want to do it on a weekday? I'm really not sure about that, some guests may not be able to make it because of work. Why not a Sunday afternoon wedding> Those are cheaper as well. JMO

I've been calling places and even Sundays are too expensive for us. I'm trying to have a wedding without all of the expense. I've spoken to all of my close friends and family and everyone understood. My bosses are even ok with closing the office that day Initially we wanted a destination wedding and everyone was willing to take vacation days to go so if I do a weekday wedding then they actually only have to take 1 or 2 days vacation instead of a week and its cheaper for them too.

when we first started looking at halls, we thought we might want to do a Thursday night to save money. but we found an awesome place which was very affordable for a Sunday night wedding. Take into consideration that the Fall & Winter are less expensive too.
There are LOTS of choices out there. you should not give up on a weekend wedding yet.
Unless you found the hall of your dreams and can only afford it on a Thursday. in which case I would say, GO FOR IT!

Have you tried Pine Hollow? It was on our list but we found our hall before we got there. They e-mailed me their prices for May and they were about 55 pp for a friday night...HTH

My wedding is at Chateau La Mer on a Wednesday night (Day Before Thanksgiving) so everyone's off the next day - perfect!!! We're paying $50 pp

Have you ever considered moving your month? It may not seem ideal but just think..you could book numerous places for even a sat night in the winter for maybe 55/60 per person...sometimes i wish i had considered this more! You get everything you want, but just in a diff month for MUCH less money!

I really really want an outdoor ceremony....but I'm not going to knock it off my list. If I can it for a great price in the winter....the winter it will be.

you really need to decide what's most important to you. my saturday daytime reception is only $70pp at westbury manor in july.

I remember the Swan Club only being $85 for a Sat night, so I would assume their weekday rates would be significantly lower.

I went to a Thursday wedding in July. July 7 it was fine. People that want to come will. Otherwise it is one night you are stayng out late big deal.

Thursday isn't bad, but Monday? Even on a holiday weekend, that is rough (unless it is New yrs eve!)
I think the night before Thanksgiving is a great night. It is the best party night! Good thinking on that.
You may want to consider a lower key place like middle Island Country club (same $ all yr round) , bellport CC(package deal), Captain Bills (outdoor & affordable)
Really think about what is important to you- the outdoor ceremony, daytime/ evening, having everyone there. All of those factors will help you figure out the best time to have the wedding.
You also need to think how important the fanciness of the place is. If you want everything crystal- you may need to switch to the off-season months. Once you narrow that down you can get some prices.
If you want an outdoor place that is on the laid back side- try middle Island, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

it's your day , your way . Do what's gonna be good for you and your FH .my wedding is the day before 4th july ,i am very please with it , in a way who ever wants to be there for you will be there; so i will not stress myself over that.

We are getting married at the Surf Club in New Rochelle in Sat day wedding which is the same price as a Mon-Thurs night wedding. They are really willing to work with you and we could not be happier. FM me if you want details.
