I can't pick out music for the father daughter dance, or find a song for when i walk down the isle, because every song starts to make me cry when i envision it playing on my wedding day.
anyone else? or am I the only weepy mess?

Re: weepy songs
no, some songs get me really weepy. Annie's song by John Denver and time in a bottle by Jim Croce for starters.
My dads really into doo wop and that early 60s music. I think I;m going with My Girl for our dance.

your not alone there sista!
I'm thinking about dancing to Billy Joel- Lullaby.. Has alot of meaning for me. If you haven't done this yet, try googling 'Father/Daughter' dances, and see what comes up.
You'll find a great one though, and it'll make for such an emotional moment for you and your dad that you're never going to forget!

Re: weepy songs
I cry every timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I was listening to my song everyday and crying so now i have stopped listening to it. (My father came to the USA in 77' worked his butt offff for us, then moved back to his beloved Dom. Rep 3 years ago) So i am so grateful for all all the sacrifice he did, coming here not knowing English, working 7 days a week. He put me through Catholic School, then college, and always gave me everything he could. That man is my IDOL... He actually called me last week becuase he was buying a jeep and was missing 1,000$ and wanted to know if it was to much trouble for me to help him since i had wedding bills. I was like OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG are you kidding me.. that made me cry also... hehehe for the wedding i am actually planning to do a photo montage of me and him during the father daughter dance (Ohh the song is in Spanish)
but let me share a little pic of us... I feel like crying right now!
my daddy came to this country and worked his butt off for us. He lost his eye sight 15 yrs ago (legally blind)and has now started dialysis because his kidneys gave out. He is a pillar of strength and love. Always happy and always affectionate.
I'm praying his health sustains and he will be well enough to walk me down the aisle and dance with me.
He has been through so much, giving me away will make him so happy.
I'm crying even now!!

Re: weepy songs
he can see me if I'm really close- he he turns his head the right way he can see certain things. he can see...everything is just really dark and certain parts blacked out.
idk- i just love him and want him to be there.
the sound of him tuning his guitar is all i can remember from my childhood.
i was singing in church with him playing the guitar since i was 4 yrs old :) he introduced me to music and the love of music. we sang together for years in church.
music and my daddy, when i look at the tattoo of a music note my my wrist I always think of my dad :)
