I am not happy with the dress I put $$ on but didnt order and I am waiting to borrow a fall 2007 sample from the store but just to make myself even more nutso in the meantime i tried on this beautiful Eve of Milady dress and now I am actually thinking what can I give up to get this very expensive dress if I dont like the sample. FH and I are paying for this wedding ourselves and my mom offered to pay for the dress but I just dont feel right spending her money where I can use it on something other than what I can wear once. what would you do?

Re: weighing the options
If you have your heart set on one dress..i think you should try and get it! it might be your dream dress, and that would stink if you pass it up..plus you only get married once! what if you try and split it with your mom?

Re: weighing the options
i think you should do what will make you most happy...you can only do this once...having said this i do know that it gets so expensive so really i would go with what i would be most able to feel good about, whatever the choice...its a tough one

Thanks for the advice. I will have to wait it out until I get the sample.

If you really have your heart set on that dress then I think you should try to do what you can to get it. I say go for it unless it really puts a strain on your pocket then try and get something similar. If you want to post a pic we can try and help you find something similar...good luck

Also Just so you know If you really have your heart set on an Eve of Milady. They take about 9 months to order. Not to make you more nervous but you would have to order it really sonn.

Re: weighing the options
maybe if you helped pay for it....or you could ask your mom what your limit is...then work on it from there !! you could also try phylis from bridal elegance and see if she can get it cheaper!!

this is exactly what i was going to say...You said you were gonna wait it out until you see the sample but EOM dresses take around 9 months or more plus you have to figure in time for alterations.
I say do what makes you happy. If your mom offered its bc she wants to, you are already paying for the whole wedding so you shouldn't feel bad if she contributes to the dress, maybe go half and half, if you are that uncomfortable with this idea then go with the sample
