Weight gain problems...

Ladies, I don't know what's going on...

In 3 weeks I have gained 8 lbs.? Ever since I stopped BF! I feel really horrible about myself. I haven't been able to lose the baby weight yet, and that's with going to the gym 4 days a week, and now this! I weigh more than what I did after I gave birth! My whole body chemistry is just all screwed up since I had my son. Before I was PG I was so skinny and in shape. I lost 50 lbs. for my wedding in 2002, I was really muscular. Then I got PG, couldn't work out anymore, and gained all this weight, and now I'm gaining even more! Doesn't matter how much I work out, I can't lose the weight anymore!

I don't know what to do?

Maybe you aren't doing the best workout for losing weight at your gym and you are actually just gaining weight in the form of muscle.
What are you doing at the gym?

My mom goes to Curves in Morrisville/Cary and has dropped about 40 lbs as well as inches maybe you need a workout like that. plus a place like curves your in and out and it's only 3x's a week. The only reason I bring up my Mom is she is finally losing her 'baby weight now' after she had my 30 yr brother (like 3 days) they moved from Queens to LI and she was away from her family and friends and became depressed which lead to her gaining weight. Luckily for me she is an awesome mom and made sure I didn't follow her habits and thank God especially since I moved after my wedding to Florida, Texas then back to Florida.

Good luck Melissa!

Work out first thing in the morning!! It will really boost your metabolism.

Also, do what I did when I had a hard time losing weight -- I had quit smoking before my wedding and even though I was working out and dieting, I was still gaining because my metabolism was royally screwed up from quitting after smoking for many years. So I worked out TWICE a day: once in the morning for one hour and once in the after noon for another hour. Breaking up the work outs like that really helped boost my metabolism.

I finally began to see the scale going down after painfully watching it go up for a month even though I was starving myself (AND NOT SMOKING!!!). I only kept up the twice per day workouts for about 2 -3 weeks, until I began to steadily lose weight at an acceptable rate (1 - 2 lbs per week) then I returned to my 1 hr mid-day work outs.

Good luck - I know how hard it is -- just don't give up and try to be patient - it WILL start to come off!

Are you still eating the same as you were wehn you were breastfeeding? You have to eat more when you are breast feeding and sometimes you body needs to adjust . Good luck

Melissa BF burns 500 calories a day! That is a lot. With that gone your body you need to make up for that or adjust your eating habits.
It is NOT easy to lose the baby weight but you can do it!!!!
