Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
You can start looking now (b/c its fun!) but you dont need to order until like the 1 year mark at the earliest....when you go shopping ask when they would reccomend you order....different designers take different amounts of time to make and ship their dresses

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
Hey date twin. I already ordered my dress, but you definitely have plenty of time!!! You should proabably start looking by September, just to be safe. If you are really serious about losing weight and know you are going to do it, I would just tell them that when they order the dress and maybe they can order you a smaller size. Good luck!!!

You can start looking now and just wait to order your dress (once you find it!). All of the dress shops I went to advised that I should order my dress 10-12 months before my wedding date so you still have plenty of time.

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
I have started exercising again to try and lose the extra weight I have gained as well (about 30-35 lbs) since being with FH. Trying on dresses is such a chore but everyone recommends get your size that you are when you try dress on and order. Much esaier to take in dress than let it out.
Ughh...why do I love food so much..

You can start its always easierto take it in then let it out. So no worries as long as your seamstress is greatthen dont worry about it. GOODLUCK!

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
start looking now because its fun and you can get an idea of what you like! If you go with a ball gown dress you can always get it and if you lose 20 pounds they can exchange the size so you arent paying up the @ss for alterations ... if you are wanting a more body hugging dress, I would wieght until you loose about 10 pounds before you start trying on dresses.

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
I would start to look now to see what kind of dress tyle you want, but again, that may change when you lose the weight. But go just b/c it is so much fun. But I definately wouldn't order it for a while.

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
i would start looking now to get an idea of what you like as far as styles and then hold off on getting a size. i gained 20 pounds when i first met FH and then lost 40 pounds after we started dating. You may find a dress that you like now but after losing 20 pounds you may want something different. HTH! Good Luck!!! you can do it!!!

Re: Weight Loss and Looking for dress
i ordered my dress 9 months before my date, got measured and i was kinda in the middle of sizes so worrying about if i gained weight i ordered teh next size up. Well by the time my dress had come in I dropped 27 pounds and they had to take it in making the dress bunch up a bit since it was all lace. So if you plan on getting a lace dress WAIT if it's a regular satin/taff dress then you can get away with a good drop unless you have tons of detail work.

I ordered my dress 9 months before the date... But you can always lose a little weight now then when you order your dress it doesn't have to be the size you want to be for the wedding. When you go for your first fitting and it's too big then you can just alter it.

I gained these 20 pounds over my 7 years with FH. He is sooo bad for me
I am confident I can get them off, my gym routine is back and I will stick to it!

Ohh I will wait I LOVE Lace, I think the advice from a previous poster to lose 10 or so and then take a look ( I am sure most brides lose/gain 10 pounds before alterations)
