So I joined weight watchers last night. I was horrified when I got on the scale. I have no idea how I still fit in a size 6 or 8 (mostly an 8) at this weight!! Anyway, I'm excited to start this diet so I can go try on dresses and not be disgusted! Just thought I would share : )

Good for you! I've been on WW since Dec '06.
I'm 5' 9' and I started at 192.3lbs
Now I'm 140.6lbs!!
That initial weigh in was a shock to me too. I never imagined I weighed that much, I guess my height has a lot to do with that though.

It certainly is!! I can have my off days every so often but as long as the following day I get back on program I am good to go.
I was able to lean to moderate myself when it comes to eating those 'not so good for you' foods.

It's so encouraging to hear that it's working for everyone!! Are you girls doing core or points? I was thinking of trying core. Mom mom did it and loved it!

Re: Weight Warchers
i'm doing points, i'm kind of a picky eater so core wouldn't really work out too well for me

I feel like i am the only one not on WW! LOL! But thats great for all of you who have lost so much weight on it!
I tried it a few years ago but the measuring out of every morsel and counting points drove me insane, i couldn't do it. I just instead cut back and lost weight that way, although it doesnt seem to be working anymore.. i am up 10 lbs and can't seem to get it off! *sigh*

I have to try SOMETHING...FH and I seem to have a negative impact on each other's waistlines!!
It also doesn't help that almost every day there is some sort of celebration in my office...which means brownies, cupcakes, cookies...nobody likes to celebrate with carrots!!!!

you could try the core plan. no measuring...you can eat whatever you want as long as it's on the core plan...fruits, veggies, meat, soups etc. worht looking into

Re: Weight Warchers
I'm really proud of myself this week.
I've kept to my diet perfectly. And to think I almost had that train of thinking this morning that 'I've been so good I can stop by A&S Bagel on the way to work and get....'
I stopped myself. I realized it's Thursday, I've been good up to this point so why sabotage myself (possibly) when I plan on weighing in Saturday.
Not that I think one bagel will do it, just that 'do I really need that bagel now?'
Maybe I'll treat myself to one after my weigh in Saturday morning.
What WW location do you girls go to? I usually go to either the one in Carle Place or New Hyde Park, I go to whatever meeting Carol does cause she's the best. I know they just opened one in Franklin Square but I haven't been there yet.
