weight watchers

I am doing weight watchers and getting worried that I will not be the weight I would like to be by my wedding. I have a little over four months and need to lose 40 lbs. Are there any brides out there who have lost a lot of weight on weight watchers. I have seen a lot of 5-15 lb. loss on this site and that is amazing. Unfortunately, I have to lose a lot more than that. I was wondering if I am the only one who has gotten myself into this predicament and if I can hear some inspiring stories to make me feel better. I am working out five times a week as well and hoping if I can't make the 40, at least to make the 30. Thanks ladies!!!

i started ww like two years ago, and still on it , there are times i want to quit, but then my wedding is in like four months, for me my goals is to be 20 pounds lighter, i have managed to hold 20 pounds off in two years. lately i have very bad with my eating and the weight had slowly crept back up. Right now i am controling my portions, eating alot more salads, drinking more water. and also excersing almost 4 out the five days . hope this help. ww is still has a great deal of support for us, and i like going to the meeting , because it help me stay and keep me grounded, that there are other like me that have the same struggles with food and weight.

Re: weight watchers

I have been doing WW for a long time, I have lost 85 pounds but it has taken me almost 5 years. Granted I am not perfect 100% of the time, probably more like 75% I run 3 days a week and walk at noontime. I know a girl who has lost 70 lbs in 18 months without much exercise and a woman who has lost 80 in 3 years with a lot of exercise.

Everyone is different, I think shooting for 40 lbs in 4 months is going to be tough, even 30 could be tough - that is 2 lbs a week, which is really a lot for your body to give up continuously.

Re: weight watchers

I began WW in March and am down 22 pounds. I am hoping to do another 15-20 by the wedding, but I know that may be pushing it. On WW your body should lose between 1 to 2 pounds each week. That is the healthy way to do it. IMO by setting such a high goal for yourself, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. I would target 20 for four months and be really really excited if you lost more.

Re: weight watchers

I have been doing flex, but I just started. I am going to the gym and doing cardio 5x a week for 30-40 minutes and weights 3-4x a week. I waited too long to start, but I am hghly motivated now. I usually lose a lot on the first week of a diet so I will find out on Thursday. I am doing the Flex, but online. Which program are you doing. I also know that when you are bigger, you tend to lose faster. I put it on pretty quickly so hopefully that helps. I am realy more concerned with inches and how I look. If I can lose 20 and look great, that would be fine too. I ordered my dress in the size I am now so I guess I should not want to be more than two sizes smaller anyway. Sorry, now I am babbling on and on. Thank you for your help!!

Re: weight watchers

Thank you Jen. I agree. I don't want to be disappointed, especially right before my wedding. I think if I keep working out, the inches will come off and that is what is important. I just need my arms and back to look good. Everything else will be covered...lol

Re: weight watchers

The inches are a really good point. My MOH lost 26 pounds doing WW since January 1st. She also walks 5 to 8 miles everyday. While 26 pounds seems like a little amount, she looks AMAZING because she lost a lot of inches. She's dropped several sizes in clothing. And yeah, you definitely don't want to be too small for your gown! Worry about losing the weight in a healthy way first because you already look beautiful!!!!

AWW. Thank you so much. I was looking at your pictures and you can totally tell the difference. Your face has completely changed. You are going to make a beautiful bride. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I am trying so hard.

Re: weight watchers

Have you considered using a personal trainer? They can be expensive, but if you hire them for a few short sessions & have them teach you the best workout for the results you want, then you can continue on your own. Sometimes you can work out alot, but if you don't combine the right amount of cardio or weight training it's not that effective. I found weight training to give me the best results on top of my regular cardio..the more muscle you have the more fat your body will burn..and it helps boost your metabolism...i have never done WW...but eating low fat combined with weight training has given me the best results...you're a beautiful girl right now!!! good luck!!

Re: weight watchers

Don't worry, I'm on the same boat. I lose 40 right after my son but I needed to lose about 40 more. I started ww in Jamuary and lost 15 but stopped for 3 months. Just started again 3 weeks ago and lost 7 more I'm hoping to lose at least 25 more by my wedding. If you stick to it, I'm sure u can do it. But it does come off slower in the beginning. You might reach 25 or 30. But go to the gym. It reallly helps me for when I cheat or have bad days. Plus it makes u feel good and tightens u up

I lost 20 lbs on core 2 years ago and I've maintained it since. It took me about 3 months. I averaged 1-2 lbs per week after the first week.
