Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
I started weight watchers last September 2008 and lost 40 lbs by February...I've been able to maintain my weight until the past couple of weeks with the holiday sweets getting in the way
It's a really great program though, I recommend it. You just have to stay focused and take it day by day.
There are a bunch of low-point snacks and meals I can recommend once you start the program too :D

Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
someone gave me the books and I followed the point system, but i never went to the meetings. It really works and the points put everything you eat in perspective and you realize how much you're actually consuming. IMO its the best program for weight loss and maintaining your weight loss bc it teaches you a new lifestyle, not a diet. Best of luck!

Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
I did WW when I was 19 & lost 40 lbs.! I love it! I'd say I gained back 15 but stayed there. I think my body is not meant to be super skinny. But I live everyday by the points in my mind still. It's the best thing everr!! Good Luck!

Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
Yes. I have done Weight Watchers in the past and lost a total of 40lbs in my first run. Since then I have gained some back and have yet to reach my goal weight but I am determined to do it ... just starting Jan 4 after all the holiday stuff is over with.

Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
I lost 20 pounds on weight watchers but over the past 2 years have gained it back.
I started again today on my own.
I am giving myself 2 weeks if I do not see progress I will join the meetings.
I feel if I am spending money to be weighed then I better lose weight LOL

The Howard Beach meetings are great. I used to go on the weekends. The leader on Saturday is so sweet. She's really motivating and writes down a new recipe or a motivating statement on chart paper for you each week. I really enjoyed going. When I was 20, I lost 40 pounds in four months from really sticking to the plan and exercising.
The registration is free now. So now you need to decide whether you would want to pay weekly at meetings or purchase the monthly pass. In my opinion, you save money with the monthly pass. The pass is $39.99 for the month. Your credit card gets charged automatically. If you choose to pay at the meeting each week, you pay $12.00 or $13.00. So with the pass you save a couple of bucks.

Re: WEIGHT WATCHERS
I just got mail from WW to join free with a friend. It sad my mail even kknows i am overweight lol I am thinking about it. Does anyone go to the bay terrace meeting???
When I met my FH, I weight 230 and he weight 150. Now, I weight 177 and he weights 220. We want to start to diet it together. I lost 60 lbs (gained 7 since the holidays) all with dieting alone and on my own. Now I cant seem to start bac and I can't go to the gym. Since I have this back pain ( i wriiten about earlier) I have physically therapy 3 times a week and no gym I am told. I tried WW but I only lost like 25 lbs (compare to my own diet) it seem little- I just need a good kick in the arse to get my started again
