Weight watchers question

Is there alot of cooking involved with WW? Everyone I talk to who is really dedicated loses weight and keeps it off...I want to join but I would like realistic feedback, also, how does the points system work ??

Re: Weight watchers question

The thing I like about Weight Watchers is that I can eat almost anything and still lose. I still live at home so my mom does the cooking. But if I have to go out, there is always something I can eat. I don't cook for breakfast or lunch. I usually just have a muffin, cereal or a waffle for breakfast and and sandwich for lunch.

I do the Point System. You get a certain number of points based on your weight, gender and lifestyle. Every food has a point value. You deduct the amount of points you eat from your daily allowance. It's really easy.

I have been doing WW for almost two months now and lost 11 pounds. I didn't think I could keep to the points system but it is really easy. You get a daily amount that you need to eat and then an additional 35 points for the week that you can use as you please. You also can gain points for the day by working out. You don't need to even cook. My dad joined with me and I don't think him or my step mom know how to even operate a stove. He is still losing by eating out every day for everything but breakfast. If you don't want to do the points they also have a program called Core where they give you a list of everything you can eat. You can have as much as you want of these foods but it is more restrictive. I do the points since you can have anything you want as long as you stay within your points. Good luck! I can't say enough positive things about WW.

Do you all go to the meetings? How important are the meetings to your success?

To be completely honest.... I stopped going to my meetings. But when I was going every week to a meeting, I lost 23 pounds in 4 months. The meetings do help, I think. I just don't have the time to go.

It is so easy. You can eat what you want. I started doing it the day after new years on my own. I just went to the meeting for the first time on sunday and I loved it. I lose two pounds since sunday. I lost a total of 6lbs all together since Jan 2.

I started WW like 6 months ago, lost 15 lbs the first month (holidays came, I went on vacation, etc) but I didn't gain any weight back (until I tried south beach - I sabotage myself on any kind of low carb diet!!!). I gained about 6 pounds from SB, but lost it all this week when I started WW again. It REALLY works, & their double chocolate muffins kick a**!

I joined WW online for three months, so there were no meeting involved, and i lost 15 pounds. People get great food ideas, motivation, and other weight loss info at the meetings, but you can also get some of that info, help, and motivation on the chat boards at weightwatchers.com. Good luck

Oh, and i don't cook all that much. I can grill some chicken and steam some veggies, but that's about it and i am still able to stay on the program.
