I lost 3.6 lbs in my first week. Is this normal? I was hoping for more...is that totally unrealistic??

that's awesome!! just remember some weeks you will lose a lot and then some just a little. Whatever you lose or even gain is normal. they tell you that your body is going thru maintenance when you are down and up a little some weeks. just remember that for the future and that it's better than gaining all the weight back. don't get discouraged about whatever happens one week. i've been learning that and its weeks like you had and like i had (this week i lost 4.6lbs!) that keep you going!

Congrats!! It's normal to lose alot of weight the first week. Just dont expect to lose that every week. The average is 2 lbs per week. There were weeks when I'd lose 5lbs and weeks when I'd only lose .2 lbs. But in the end it evened out to about 2lbs per week.

yes that sounds about right. They say its not that healthy to lose more than 2lbs a week anyway. I am not on WW but i know its a program that has worked for a lot of people. Good luck!!

Congrats!!!! Great Job!!!!
In the beginning i was losing alot, even with not working out, i think its your body adjusting to the new eating habits, and then gradually i started to lose in more of pattern of 1-2 pds a week

Woo hoo! Congrats & keep up the good work! Usually you drop a bit more than usual that first week cause your body hasn't adjusted.
I lost about that my first week and there were some weeks where I lost that much but I was averaging a loss 1 to 2.5lbs per week.

Like everyone else said anywhere between 1-2.5 lbs per week on average is great! Any more? Just gravy and brings you closer to your goal! Congratulations to you!

Thanks girls. I was hoping for like 10 in the first week. LOL. So unrealistic!
