Weird....

So I invited a couple ppl from work, not crazy but my boss, the head of the department and 3 girls I work closely with. I invited the same three girls to the shower too. Ok so only one of them is married fine but she's been married for a while, in really good financial situation. Anyway she sends me a gift from the registrly to my home and my Mom opened it, usually the registry gifts are wrapped anyway this one wasn't and it was a spatula and the invoice was enclosed so my Mom went ahead and told me um so and so sent a spatula so is it ok if I wrap it for the shower. Ok that's fine. Later at work the girl is like oh I sent you a gift b/c I can't attend the shower but my husband and I will be attending the wedding and this will be the wedding gift!!! I was in shock

WHAT????? Is she serious??? What world is she living in???? Sorry if that is offensive, but that is absurd

It just ***** that I already know ahead of time, ughh it's like can I take back my invite I'm soo annoyed. Plus she's always showing me these new $500 bags and expensive she buys (everything she owns is designer) I'm so offended I wish she never said anything. Now i know I'm going to have to shell out $$ for her and her husband and not see a dime back, the spatula just about covers the amt of money I spent on the invite & postage

yeah, i could def understand you being a bit resentful about this...some people really can surprise you

maybe it's a mistake? Who gives a spatula as a gift?

If it's not a mistake I would be offended too --- like she's trying to send a message or something

im thinking she got u a couple of things but maybe the spatula was available right away and they shipped it first..this has happened to me before when ordering stuff online..

That's what I'm thinking. Or at least hoping. If not, I've lost all faith in humanity!

Is she on the shower list? Maybe your mum can nonchalantly call her and explain 'we got this spatula in the mail - is it a multi piece shipment? Should I wait for other stuff to wrap it?'
