I just received a declined response from a friend of mine that had implied that she was coming. She told me weeks ago that she was coming, she just wasn't sure if she was going to bring someone or not and that is why she did not send the card back at that time. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed because she didn't even write she was sorry she couldn't make it or even give a reason. She just checked that she was not attending. My question is how should I respond?? Should I call and ask what happened, or should I just act like nothing is wrong?? Thanks for your help in advance

i'd call and make sure she's ok. i would only mention that you got her response card and say that she'll be very missed. something may have happened and she may be embarrassed to say too much in the card.

I would call to check in on her....I wouldnt make it out that you are made or hurt she isnt coming just let her know that whatever it is its ok and you are going to miss her that day.

i would call & just ask....on of dh's friends did something similar..she was a really good friend & just simply checked the decline box without writing anything or calling...we were just like . in the end it just ended up her being ignorant & not really having ettiquette..a friend asked her & she was like 'ooh they were hurt a little?? i feel really bad - i didn't know i should have told them why' lol. just call & ask - especially if she iriginally told u she WAS coming..atleast then u'll know
