Weird if Groom has a camera?

Weird if Groom has a camera?

When I go on vacation, I take a TON of pictures.

Most of the pictures don't even have people in it.

So I assume at the wedding, I would like pictures of:
The room
The decoration of the place
the food
the layout
etc

I have never seen either the groom/bride using a camera.

But then again, the last time I went to a wedding, people were not using digital cameras, so not everyone had cameras.

I assume this is more common now that everyone has a digital camera.....?

Is it weird if I have a camera and take pictures?

Re: Weird if Groom has a camera?

For my first wedding I gave someone my camera. This was before digital. I then had people take pics with it during the ceremony, pics in the studio and the reception. I believe I was even taking pics too. I plan on having my camera with me this time, and will give it to people to just snap pics =)

Re: Weird if Groom has a camera?

I am always the one at family events taking pictures, I just had this conversation with my sister in law. I plan on giving my camera to one of her brothers for the day. He is going to do the job I typically do at parties.

FH, doesn't take pictures. Its your wedding day, have someone else take it.

I am planning on having my camera so i can take pics before the church of me and the girls getting ready and the maybe in between the church and the reception if i can. But i am not going to be wiping out my camera at the reception to take pics. That is what the photographer and my friends are for! lol

I don't think it's 'weird' but I do think it's unnecessary. SO many people are going to be taking pictures + the photographer. Just relax and enjoy your day without worrying about taking pictures. Ask your photographer to get the shots that you want.
