Weird invitation addressing question

Weird invitation addressing question

Does anyone else have a problem with addressing an invitation to 'Mr. and Mrs. John Doe,' using only the man's first name? This really bothers me, especially when the wife is my friend and the husband is only invited in the first place because of her. Does anyone have any advice about how to get around this? I was thinking of 'Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Doe,' but I'm not sure if that's 'acceptable' for wedding invitations. Any opinions or advice?
Thank you!!

as much as it may bother you- at first when I made my list I also questioned it- to my knowledge that would be the appropiate and formal way to address the invite especially since they are both married HTH

I used mr and mrs john doe when i didnt know the wifes name, esp with people we work with

Other times mom wrote mr and mrs john and jane....

but most times we just did mr. and mrs. john doe bc it honestly was quicker - mom did them all by hand herself

Dont worry about it....everyone is used to it!

Maybe on the innter envelope just write 'Jane and John' (drop the mr. and mrs. part - my friend did that!)

I dropped it altogether and addressed them to Mr. and Mrs. Doe.

Re: Weird invitation addressing question

We did Mr. and Mrs. John Doe on outer envelope and Mr. and Mrs. Doe on the inner envelope....it can get really long on the line of the envelope if names are long also!

We had that problem with unmarried couples that if their names were too long it made the address not fit right!
