weird question but i need advice

Ok so my reception is on July 4th at 8:00pm in the evening...i want to be IN long island around my hall exactly at 6:30pm to take pictures etc...

There is a makeup artist i reallllly like shes in Brooklyn... and well i live in Long island...shes not willing to commute for any price

so does anyone know on July 4th will the Belt Parkway be reallly stuck with traffic?? cuz of the fireworks/nyc rush..??? i dont want to take a chance and go all the way out to her and than NEVER make it back home..be stuck in traffic for 3hrs... thats a nightmare...but at the same time i feel really comfortable with her and she does an amazing job...

I usually stay local on july 4th... so dont know what the situations are with the highways etc..ESP the belt parkway which takes u too brooklyn??
any advice??

I was actually on the belt last 4th and in the afternoon it was pretty clear but in the morning it was packed. You never know with the belt - my advice would be to find someone closer.

I live in Brooklyn, right by the Verrizano so I'm an expert on the Belt Parkway.....and I can tell you traffic is a nightmare anytime during the summer, but July 4th there may be more because of the fireworks......Probably late afternoon/evening will be worse.

Our wedding is on a Friday at 6:30, and i've already warned people there will probably be traffic

Where in BK is she? May have less traffic on the BQE......I'm not saying don't go, if you love her work then go for it! But give yourself plenty of time just in case.....Traffic will probably get worse closer to 5 or 6pm.

I would not take the chance, start looking for someone else for make-up.

I wouldn't take the chance. I would try to find someone that will come to you or is located closer to you.

The Belt Parkway is so unpredictable, it seems like every time I take it there's traffic, If you really want to us her I would give yourself a ton of extra time.

My Man is Absolutly FAB!!!! He's in Manhattan too, but he's commuting to Glen Cove for my wedding, altho I am going in to the city for my trial, that's only b/c we're doing it at the Mac Pro Studio, if you wanna check him out, I highly reccommend him

I met him on set in Feb, where he was the MA, and he's so beyond talented...

I agree with the other girls.. I wouldn't take the chance. It seems like you are giving yourself plenty of time, but the day of your wedding why fret?
