Weird questions about eyebrows

Weird questions about eyebrows

Okay, let's say I've never had my eyebrows professionally done. My make-up artist says that I need to before the wedding:
1. Am I supposed to let them go for awhile so that beautician can get them sculpted well.
2. Is this something you have a trial with someone about?
3. how far before the wedding do you get this done?

(I warned you these were weird )

1- Let them go a little while so she can have something to work with.
2- I don't think you need a trial but I would start doing them now so you can make sure you know the person you are using is good.
3- I would get this done a couple of days before the wedding so any swelling will go down before the rehersal dinner.

I don't think these were strange at all

first of all... GO with threading.. It's so much better. 2nd my eyebrows are like the bionic freak eyebrows and they grow really fast. Mine will be done the day before the wedding. I really wish they could be done the day of.. But If your using waxing. Get i done a day or two before hand. No trials needed but start now becuase if your person sucks and screws them they will have a while to grow back..not too scare you but some people think everyone wants pencil thin eyebrows. Definitly go soon so you can get a shape you like and play around with different shapes.. Don't try it yourself.. trust me I had like 'no' eyebrows for a while... It was horrible.

Re: Weird questions about eyebrows

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY second threading!!!! I waxed my very thick, unruly brows for years with varying degress of success. I started threading about 4 months ago and my brows have never looked better or been more even!!! Additionally, I used to get red bumps and irritation from waxing that I never get from threading. It does take a little getting used to, so I'd start sooner rather than later.

Good luck!

I usually wax my eyebrows (when I finally get around to it) I tried threading but it drove me crazy...I didn't like it at all but I also don't like plucking them either...

I'm a threading fan too...it's just the best. Definitely find someone that does it and go for it, let them grow in so that they can shape them...nothing beats the shape that threading gives.

I wax, never tried threading. I have thin eyebrows so I have to really wait for a while before I get them done. Definetly, start doing them now for the same reasons stated above. And so them like a day or two before the wedding depending on how sensitive your skin is.

THREADING IS AMAZING!!

I have very hairy eyebrows in need of much help - every 9 days. I have been waxing and plucking for years. Let me tell you, threading is the best thing in the world.

Not only do they get every single stray hair (waxing does not - at least not for me) but they are amazingly good at Shaping the eyebrow (the line of the threads allows them to really measure and be exact.)

When I say 'they' I don't mean to be rude - It's Indian women - and I have not been to one professional threader who performed anything less than perfection with my caterpillars.

Let me know if you work in manhattan - i go to a place that does them for 6 dollars.

Let them grow for a couple months and then go get them shaped. I HIGHLY recommend Fran at Butterfly Studio. It's on 5th ave and 21st street. The salon is often mentioned in InStyle. It is $50, but it it totally worth it.

I used to get waxed all the time. Then I tried threading...I'll never get waxed again. Threading gives such precision and gorgeous shape. Plus the place I go charges less than waxing. I only pay $5 for my brows. I'd definitely start going now so you find a shape you like and continue going. Then I'd go 2 days before the wedding just in case you swell a little bit. Hope this helps.

It's so interesting to read all of this. I currently wax but I did threading once and it hurt soooo bad I never went back.

Get them done a few days in advance of the wedding (unless they grow fast). Also, have them done once or twice a few months in advance in case the person screws up. My girlfriend had an eyebrow incident at some salon in the city (eyebrows and nails only) and she walked around looking SURPRISED on the left side of her face for weeks. She wore a bang covering it as much as possible until it grew back in enough to fix.

Never tried the threading.......can someone explain exactly what this process involves? It sounds painful to me for some reason.

Re: Weird questions about eyebrows

Threading.. Go to 107 in hicksville. There are tons of places. I like Femina, If your'e traveling north (before Old country rd) It is on your left hand side before the HIP center. My mom goes to a different place and they are rude and don't do as good of a job. PLUS my place massages your temples really nice afterwards.

Its only 5 $ I pay 7$ for eyebrows and upper lip... HA HA german and italian=hairy!!

Re: Weird questions about eyebrows

If you waxed and plucked your whole life, threading is not too painful. If not... It hurts..not gunna lie... BUT my mamma always said, as she was raking through the knots in my hair, 'Beauty takes pain, my dear!'

They kind of twist a thread and then you hold your eyebrow skin tight and they run the thread across the eyebrow to remove the hair. The first time hurts bc your hair is longer and thicker buy once you go a few times the hair comes out easier and doesn't hurt...

The major benifit is... You NEVER get ingrown hair... leads to red bumps.
