Weird Snail Mail question...

When someone sends you something in the mail, do you ever check the date it was post marked?


I'm about to send my parents anniversary card, but don't have enough postage. Their anniversary is on Wednesday, but they're going to the Bahamas for the week, returning on Saturday. Whether I sent the card today or tomorrow (I know I have some more stamps at home, but then it will miss today's mail) it will still get there before they get home, so they'll still get it on Saturday...but what if my mom checks the date

I usually only check the postage stamp if someone says they sent me something and I haven't gotten it yet.

Perfect example was a family member sent us a postcard from Disney. It sat in their mailbox for almost a week before it was sent out tous and we got it a good week after our family had come home from Disney. Then I checked the stamp and that's when we found it sat in the box for a while.

So you could always use that excuse if she does check the postage stamp.

I only check if I get the card late....just out of curiousity though. If I get it ontime...then I never think to look.

I am sure your parents will have a lot of mail to go through when they return from their trip...I wouldn't think they would look that closely at the envelope....they will be touched their daughter sent such a nice card!
