Welcome Bags for Hotel

I am thinking of leaving Welcome Bags at the hotel for my guests. Has anyone ever seen it or done it themselves? What should be put in these bags? Is it one per room or per person? Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Bags for Hotel

We did it for my brother's wedding and are doing it for ours. One per room, although I filled the bags according to the number of people staying per room. We are including: Small bottle of Perrier Small can of Arizona Ice Tea Grandma's Cookies Choc. Covered Raisins Gold Fish Crackers Mini Pretzels Gourmet Jelly Beans Cashews Map to events Thank you letter Local maps and attraction brochures In general, what is suggested is just a little snack or treat, plus some local information, as a way of welcoming your guests. I got some cellophane bags from papermart.com and filled them with goodies from Costco that I bought in bulk - about 1 cup of each item above. The bags were tied with a ribbon and they look real cute!

Welcome Bags for Hotel

Who puts the bags in the rooms? Do your guests get them at check in? I went to a wedding in Boston a few years back and they did a welcome basket w/ wine, cheese, nuts, soda, pepperoni, crackers, and chocolate. It was given to us when we checked into the hotel. You might want to stick w/ a theme- maybe do a beach theme. You could include sun tan lotion, towels, magazines, water, chips, ect.
